A wee bit more expensive, but Decathlon do what they call a sleeping bed, which is basically a sleeping bag with built in inflatable matress.

Very comfy and light (though not sure about their claim that it's as comfy as your own bed, depends on how comfy your own bed is I suppose!) I can recommend them.

I think they are about 40 or 50 quid from Decathlon, my nearest one in miles away in Stockport though so I tracked down one on Ebay for 54 squid.

They are far more comfortable than an airbed. They keep you insulated from the cold ground and I didn't feel any lumps or uneven ground. I actually went to a camping shop where they have them unpacked and had a lie down on it, including leaning on my elbows to see if I could feel the floor through it. I couldn't feel a thing.

Be arsed wasting £20, chances are you'll be f**king shitfaced anyway and it'll be about 7am only to be waking up about 11am.

Take about 4 sleeping bags, them throw on top of eachother and just fall onto that nest, thats what i'll be doing. Unreal comfort and totally does the job.

This is the one I have used for the last few years (had to google it!). It takes minutes to use. Open the valve and leave it for a few minutes and it will inflate itself, I like a harder bed though so all I do is add about 6 lung fulls of air and shut the valve. I would say that it will only need a top up of air after about 4 days.

I bought mine from a local caping shop not from this site so I have no idea if they are trustworthy! I do know that they sell them at Go Outdoors so if you have one near you then pop in, they have them unrolled so you can try them.

Posted this on another thread.....

Neither in my case, I use one of these.....

......+a Tesco value pillow. I'm 6ft2 and 16stone, it supports me so would hold most people. I find it quite comfortable also. Keeps you off the ground and once its up, its up no need to keep topping up the air in it.

Argos, £12.99. See HERE.

I've got the alpkit mat and I've used a thermarest before too, although not the one in the pic. The alpkit one is just as comfy as the thermarest mat. If you are looking for a mat that will last years and years then go for the thermarest, I don't think the alpkit would last more than a couple of years. BTW I've used alpkit a few times and they are great at getting things out to you quickly and the price includes delivery. Self inflating mats are a lot more comfortable than those foam mats you can get, but I guess it all depends on the amount of time you are going to spend sleeping on the thing!

    • I did get a little amusement at the idea that Infantino was upset Trump stood him up for the US opener last night given how hard he's been trying to get in his good books.   Tbf, I thought the Canadian roar at their equaliser was decent volume. Or maybe I just had my phone at a higher volume for it when I watched the highlights this morning.
    • Wonder if they’d ever headline Glasto again.  Would be very different a 2nd time around I reckon.
    • My mate is there now. She enjoyed them a lot but had never seen them before. Apparently there was an injury in the crowd near the end so took about 10 or so minutes to sort out. Hope the person is alright.    Feeder apparently drew a ridiculously huge crowd on the third stage.
    • This was never a surprise.   I'm hoping USA meet and lose to Iran in round of 16, just to really wind up Trump.
    • Watched this this morning -  absolute brilliance -  live show is peaking
