Tickets go on sale at HMV on the 30th of march 7pm.

I think this is stupid becuase

1. The shops will be still open

2. People lineing up to by tickets wont know the line up as its released just before and

3. It's just after rush hour and it's going to busy as fook.

But the thing with this year is you won't get your ticket on that day.

You get handed a voucher that you have to go into HMV on the 1st of August and hand it back over to get your ticket.

They say it's to prevent Touting which I can't see happening tbh

Only downside I can see to this, is that for the people unlucky enough to not manage to get tickets on the 30th, they aren't going to be able to camp outside HMV the next morning to try and get a ticket.

But, I have a hunch that with the fact there are no box office tickets this year, there will be a second and third batch released a bit later like there was in 2007

Now that you mention it, yes I would rather they went on sale at 6am the next morning. That way anyone mad enough to be there at 6am would get their ticket. A heavy Monday night, a nice kebab, some messing around in town and then staggering over to HMV off your face at 5:30am? If I lived in the catchment area and that was the routine it would most certainly be an annual tradition.

Yea we got dropped off by what used to be the main entrance early Wednesday afternoon and saw the carnage, people getting lifted out and collapsing. Apparently some people had been there since midnight before, crazy shit man.

Can't blame them for putting a stop to it if I'm honest

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
