Hey everyone, just read through all your posts as I decided to buy a Vango Dart DS 200 today. It seems to cover everything I need- double skinned, popup wahey!! It looks big enough just for myself, seems to have decent enough waterproof-ness and has a small-ish porch bit where i can shove my wellies etc! I'm gonna put it up in the garden when it arrives and hope that it rains lots so I can test it lol :P

Jackman I think if you can cover HurrahBrother's 5 points below then you'll definitely have a winner as all 5 points are exactly what I was looking for in a tent and as HurrahBrother's said, the Vango Dart DS seems to cover most of them. :)

If you can pull off

1) a twinned skinned pop-up

2) with a smallish packed disk size (about 2 foot 6 across or smaller),

3) a HH of 1500 or more,

4) with additional ventilation (like the air)

5) and a porch large enough to take your boots off inside the tent but not in the sleeping area.

You will have a winner, because other pop-ups can usually only manage 3. though the Vango dart DS 200 seems as if it may have covered 4 of those bases Take a look here. but not point 4. Seems to retail for about £40 at the moment, but having seen one in the flesh it really is a one person/very loving couple size of tent.

1) I would never buy a pop-up tent. Just too unwieldy to carry - unless there's some new design other than those ones that pack down to a wide disc.

2) One very useful feature at festivals is individuality - for fun, and for finding your tent in a sea of green Eurohikes. If you could come up with some way to have a huge variety of randomised designs, it would really help those too lazy to customise their tents.

I can't decide whether to bring my slightly large 3 man tent I normally come with (and share)....or invest in a new, rather more practical (and cosy) 2 man affair ! If I bring the 3 man one....anyone help put it with me

Just practice putting your tent up and packing it away a few times, modern ones really are simple to do, most either have colour coded poles, or all the poles are the same size. Once you've got the hang of it, they're simple as anything, I even managed to help put up a mega tent last year! Basic shaped dome tents are a piece of piss.

    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
