On the official download website it says there will be a new site layout on Friday, which I would have thought included a line up page, does this mean there is a chance of more confirmed bands? And does any1 know the reason for announcing just the one headliner. Thought the idea was announce all 3 big hitters to sell tickets??

Na u see most people will buy just on rumors or suspense so they'll release it slowly selling more tickets with every announcement and between. Last year they did all three at once and they didn't sell out cos ppl were disappointed by the headliners.

Tickets go on general sale on Friday and there are more announcements between now & then. I'm looking foward to this

I think we will get another announcement friday with the new site or at least the stages etc.. I think they have been delibrately misleading with the current poster to help speculation.

Yeah how quickly they took the Presale off Id say they've already shifted a lot, I doubt there will be anymore acts announced for a couple of weeks

I think Download will sell out this year myself, maybe not straight away but at some point, theres less people going abroad cus of losing jobs and the weak pound, so many might do festivals instead, looks how fast Glasto has sold out this year

And Download opens Wednes till Monday, its like a weeks camping holiday near enough, and the line up is decent and will appeal to an vast crowd many being older than last year Id say, it has a lot of 80's acts, 90's acts and fewer of today's acts, being more appealing to that demographic

Im not too sure. Now with more and more people going Bloodstock,hellfest and all the festies abroad and now Sonisphere i think it will take at least till mid july for them to sell out if at all.

i may be wrong but i'm sure i heard that the final decision was to hold the capacity at 60000 for this year

Yeah heard it was 80 000 or less. I heard the campsite is more condensed than last year - So maybe only 60 000 camping? Its definately not more than 80 000

I think it will sell out the band seems targeted more at the older crowd 23+ therfore they have more disposible income and I think a lot of people will choose to go to festivals as a holiday? Weak pound? expensive flights? and all teh other nonsense.

Well they do if they are the 23+ year olds that still live at home! Those of us who have cars and houses and dependant people (children, brothers, grandparents, broke housemates!) we all have little disposable income. Saying that, we do have more credit cards and loans and bigger overdrafts!!
