Someone posted the figures a while back, so search about two or three weeks ago in this thread and you should find them.

From memory we had more rain in 2007 than 2005, but spread out over the whole of the festival. In 2005 about a months worth fell in just 12 hours Friday morning.

Calm down everyone the reports aren't even that bad. Wednesday will be a fantastic day which to be fair is the most important day for sunshine as arriving in the mud is just horrible. The weather is completely balanced throughout the rest of the festival and as we have seen those fools at the met office find it difficult to predict 5 days in advance so I would forget about the weekend and just enjoy the sun we'll definitely have on Wednesday.

Right, this weather lark. This is what netweather say:

there is the outside chance of a shower during Thursday afternoon and evening, then later on Friday and into the weekend there is the risk that some thundery, heavy rain could push up from the south of the UK bringing quite a soaking to the festival. At this time there is a fair bit of uncertainty, it may stay south of the UK, it may move through pretty quickly, or it may dump copious amounts of rain bringing another taste of mud-bath Glasto - we'll keep you updated

So, nowt definite then eh?

Also, I know it's basically a Weather fruit machine, but metcheck has about 3-4cm of "the R word" spread across 3 days or so. I've finally accepted, weather in this country sucks, it's almost impossoble to predict more than about 2 days in advance and what will be will be (as long as it's pretty dry)

I think we're seeing two sets of people on this thread now

A ) Those just taking their first looks (the sensible ones, really) and seeing a forecast that, taken on face value, is really not that bad at all

B ) Those who've been here a while and had their hopes raised by the brilliant forecasts over the weekend, and are now crushed by the disappointment casued by the relative downturn in forecast

Edited for

exactly. this forecast ( http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=...;sess=#forecast ) which people are saying is awful and they'd consider leaving early because of it, is actually pretty good.

here's a summary of what that link says:

weds 24th: sunny - no rainfall

thursday 25th: sunny periods - possibility of "very light rain"

friday 26h: sunny periods - possibility of rain in evening

saturday 27th: sunny periods - possibility of rain in evening

sunday 28th: warm but overcast

how is that a dreadful forecast? sun on every day except sunday!

and the bbc are saying sun on weds, thurs and fri with the only possibility of rain being on friday night and the met office agrees.

    • Possibly not as there are chair size restrictions in the seated area, for the guidelines see here -  https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/bring   Have a look into applying for Access and I would recommend contacting them for further advice before buying a ticket - https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/access  They should also be able to answer if you can take a wheelchair into the seated area 🙂
