This is hot off the press:

Check out the snidey way the journo deals with Glasto versus the smug Wimbledon analingus; hateful c**ts.

Anyway:

Met Office national forecaster Dean Snowden said: 'There is going to be a good deal of fine, dry weather. It would easily be the hottest weather we have seen so far this year.

'The middle part of the week will be the sunniest, with it remaining warm and humid, then there will be a risk of showers at the end of the week.

'This is mostly likely to affect many places in the south of the UK, with the odd shower or thunderstorm breaking out. But thanks to strong winds, this should blow over quite quickly, and it will stay warm.

'It could get close to 30C in the middle of the week, and will become warm and quite humid because of high pressure building across the UK in the earlier part of the week.

It will get warmer and warmer, but those areas where it is hottest are more likely to have showers on Friday.

'Into next week there is more of a risk of showers, which will clear the humidity and make it fresher.

'It will be great weather this week for Wimbledon, and should be generally nice for Glastonbury, even though there will be the occasional shower over the weekend.'

The one thing I’ve been thinking about lately is that new retractable roof at Wimbledon. Their going to be praying for rain so they can show it off to all and sundry.

For the first time in living memory; I bet it doesn’t rain a drop!!

You can all thank me for the hour I spent this afternoon waterproofing my hiking boots. On such futile acts are great weather deals done.

I sprayed the tent with the waterproof spray this afternoon too so we're doing our bit.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
