Alchemy will be full of surprizes - I didn't even know about these until I saw it on their site! - Cocos lovers

COCOS LOVERS are a band made up of husbands, wives, brothers, sisters and friends that hail from Deal on the Kent coast. They are eight in number and are part of the new young folk movement, a movement that is currently championed by the likes of Mumford and Sons, Noah and The Whale, Laura Marling, Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes.

Cocos lovers

Will be on the small world solar stage!

I am pleased to say that Nanook from Strange Daze and Boogie Beats Records will be at Alchemy!

NANOOK

Nanook started DJ'ing in late 1997, playing a complete eclectic range of dance and chill. In the last few years, his style has begun leaning more towards Percussive, Minimal Prog, and Roots Reggae Dub. Having been producing music since around 2000-01, Nanook just released his debut album 'In The Shadow of Leaves' an accumlication of tracks spanning 8 years.

The Swiines

These 4 talented individuals with a passion for writing great music and playing live gigs have already proven that they have what it takes to rub shoulders with the big boys and play their unforgettable tunes on the big stages.

Combining rawness, dirty sounds, passion and energy, The Swiines live performances get every single person in the room singing or bouncing along to their songs.

With regular airplay by legendary BBC DJ Dean Jackson, a live performance on Richard Bacon’s BBC 5 Live show, and getting chosen to support The Subways at Rock city by the band themselves, 2009 looks like The Swiines maybe ‘the band’ that come up with the goods.

Stereofreakz

Stereofreakz are up and coming producers, bootleggers, remixers and above all DJ's.... the pleasure is in dropping the funk and rocking the crowd! StereoFreakz play a mash up of funk, soul, hip-hop, disco and through it all breakbeats and full on crowd pleasers. StereoFreakz put their heart (and soul... although their souls are currently pawned to the horned one himself!) into every set... re-rubbing and re-touchin nearly all tracks played to ensure every set is unique and fresh.... As Alchemy will be the last festival of the season.... expect something very special and exclusive! StereoFreakz tunes have found their way into record boxes of many DJ's of late notably Featurecast of Goodgroove records. Stereofreakz have also had a nod and a wink and been given respect from players on the scene like Krafty Kuts, Slynk and Cut la Roc amongst others... keep your eys and ears out.... StereoFreakz are bringing the funk!

The stanton warriors would be a good addition to the line up.

I'll introduce you to one of my mates at Bearded Theory... he's a breaks DJ and would probably be up for playing.

You probably have the psy side of things already covered, but the Zogg crew would be good to have on board... they definitely know what they are doing. There's a guy called johnny M who is associated with them who does an amazing chill out set as well as lots of funky stuff. Infact, any of the karma allstars crew would also be good.

Drumming workshops at Alchemy!

High energy djembe workshops led by master drummer Pa Faye, 'Pams' from the Gambia. Pams has been teaching & performing throughout Europe for over 25 years. His unique style of playing is spellbinding to hear. Having a natural talent for teaching his art, he breaks down rhythms and works on technique that simplifies the most complicated of rhythms! Workshops are suitable for beginners to experienced players - Pams' energetic teaching style will have him holding basic rhythm whilst breaking down a solo pattern for those seeking soloing tuition.

Drums available.
