    Weather v Line up

Pfft 2016 was a laugh a minute compared to the abject misery of 2007. 2007 just had so many unrelenting hours of cold rain, whereas 2016 had lots of mud but plenty of times the rain stopped. 2007 is the only year I went home early, as the Sunday arrived, I was still wet and it was clear it was gonna be another 24 hours of rain. Less wet, but funnier (if you weren't affected), was 1985. Folks had only seen decent weather, so often just came in denim or leather jackets and trainers or at best DMs. Nobody wore walking boots or wellies, not everyone had changes of clothes and some didn't have tents - they'd plan to kip outdoors, in the cinema tent, car or whatever. Plastic bags wrapped around a trainer don't have a lot of grip.

    2024 Stage Predictions

Think many seem to think they're now more likely next year
  3. Ooh now that is interesting, a few others on the same bill there too could pop up
  4. This plus you're the only person I could see using diversity in a similarly derogatory manner.
  5. I think one of those you've highlighted wouldn't have made this poster anyway due to being on the acoustic? I dunno if I'm the only one who thinks this doesn't reflect well on you tbh?
  6. Sorry I wasn't referring to EV's but to hydrogen.
  7. I want intending to suggest that you were one of them, but many of them refer to it as the panacea and how it would be a simple transition, clearly you appreciate there's more to it than that. As for your last paragraph, sadly at the rate we're going I'll be delighted if the majority of countries are still populated in 50 years 😢
  8. We have an 11 year old golf with leccy handbrake, never run out, but good to know that just in case 👍
  9. It's more complicated than a lot of petrol heads have led us to believe https://amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/aug/27/the-guardian-view-on-hydrogen-hype-its-perhaps-not-as-green-as-you-think
  10. Indeed, the leccy car pretty much preceded it (but didn't have the infrastructure), as covered by the Prof Https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001f7y1
  11. Seen a few that are darker and in some cases far longer than I've seen for a while:- Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things and Midsommar. They certainly all made a distinct impression in different ways.

    2025 Headliners

Some suggestions in here seem fanciful at best, even this far out. Still, sweet that people can dream.
  13. Even just amongst this first poster there's a lot that fits that criteria. It may not be to your taste, but at the same time there will be others saying they want ever more new, stuff. That's why we have so many stages, of which the surface hasn't been scratched yet.
  14. Nah, you should be feeling far more guilty about that dreadful idea of pleasure 😉
  15. "Justice Ginsburg’s Family Decries Bestowing RBG Award on Elon Musk and Rupert Murdoch" https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2024/03/justice-ginsburgs-family-decries-bestowing-rbg-award-on-elon-musk-and-rupert-murdoch/
  16. But they aren't aiming just for a gender balance on the initial poster.
  17. I was thinking of the top floor of the museum of Liverpool, which I was lucky to visit recently. They have 4 Beatles suits and it tells the story of how Epstein persuaded them to ditch their rebellious leather jackets and jeans so they would look less threatening.
  18. If you nearly cried then you've invested too much in that first poster one way or another. Maybe wait for some stages and see if your disposition improves.
  19. I think you're right that there's an immediate focus on positioning on all stages from the outset. Just looked up how long it was that they played in their hey day, 19 years headlining other?
  20. Do they not hold charge for 6 days though? So when there's plentiful grid charging they'll be OK?
  21. When we all have EVs there'll be more infrastructure. Supply will catch up with demand, but if it precedes it that needs to be at someone's expense...and nobody wants to pick up that tab yet.
  22. I feel a bit weird about folks looking at other music scenes thinking ours hasn't had either a controlling or dark underbelly in the past. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/bay-city-rollers-gordon-clark-9059841
  23. Steady on, I'm in my 50s, so gonna take me a while to fill a bottle with p if razorlight are playing 😊
