    Bars

If you can get a pint for less than £6 I’ll be surprised! And it won’t be because the bars are trying to rip you off. As a publican myself, the amount and size of brewery price increases we’ve been subjected to lately has been unprecedented in my time. And we’re a free house!!! Prices just went up 30p to 50p per pint across the board!!! The biggest single increase I’ve ever seen. That’s on top of last years increases. As mentioned, we’re a free house, in the midlands, and our cheapest pint (Carling) is now £3.80!!! All the way up to £5.60 for the dearest. And we’re fairly cheap for our area (exc Spoons and greene king managed houses of course!) Hate to see what London prices are like now!
  2. Not a recommendation as such, but our 7.5cm Vango SIMs are slightly bulkier than a small 3 person tent when rolled up, so don't get anything thicker than that. 7.5cm is extremely comfortable though. More so than any airbed I've ever tried, including the high ones!
  3. That is a really good deal!!! Does that include 5g? EDIT: Never mind, just checked it out, 4g only 😞 Still great for what you'd use it for at a festival I should imagine, but you almost had me cancelling this EE sim for a second there (Which I intend to use after the festival, and would appreciate 5g)
  4. Thanks both of you... Premier Inn breakfast it is then 🙂
  5. Get the 24 Month the week before the fest... Then cancel it on the Monday... (14 day legal cooling off period) You'll have to pay for the month... but who cares? Naughty I know, but naughty is sometimes nice... 😈
  6. The one I just got was £20 for 160GB!!! I ordered this on the 13th May... Surely it hasn't got that much worse so soon? Edit: Ohhh Just realised you said 1 month 🙈
  7. It's also worth remembering that most of the sites of 'mass gatherings' I'm referring to are year round venues. Football grounds, concert venues, theme parks... Three will have presumably given more thought to permanent infrastructure for these venues. Wembley for example has a capacity of 90k most weeks. At the time of the semi final the capacity was 'supposed' to be 60k. 10% of 60k is only 6k, if they have given any thought whatsoever to their permanent infrastructure in that area, it should have been a breeze to be fair. This is my first Glastonbury, and may well be a different kettle of fish, hence I've opted for an EE e-SIM as a second sim backup option. 🙂 (As a side note, Three is the only decent internet I can get in my village, the supposed 'fibre' we can get only goes as far as the next village, leaving us with 12 mbps on fibre prices, and other networks haven't installed 5g out here. But my Three 5g router consistently gives us 500-1000mbps solid connection, so we now use it as our main home broadband. I think they've been doing this in a lot of rural areas, to bridge the gaps that OpenReach and Virgin cannot fill.)
  8. We've somehow managed to get a cheap room in the Glastonbury Premier Inn on Tuesday evening. So I'm hoping we can head down there Tuesday afternoon, and then head over to our Sticklinch car park on Weds morning / early hours. But the question is what time? What time should we head from Gloastonbury to the festival? When does the traffic start to pick up? Should we head out early hours and join the queues for 8am? Or, since we have pre erected accommodation at Sticklinch, should we have a lie in, and head over after the morning rush?
  9. It's next day guaranteed by 1 But that obviously only applies if they hand it to Royal Mail today, if they hand it over tomorrow then it will be Friday.
  10. Never struggled with Three at other mass gatherings. At the England semi final at Wembley last year I had no issues getting online where others did. I've always put it down to a comparatively lower userbase for their network. They only have a 10% UK market share. And the 3 MVNO's that use their network collectively account for around 1-2%, whereas the MVNOs that use the likes of EE and especially O2, have a decent market slice themselves.
  11. I know in my head that any meteorologist will tell you "forecasting the weather beyond around 3-5 days is almost impossible and purely guesswork..." But I'm totally hooked on this thread and checking long range forecasts online... And secretly I love it. Is this what Glastonbury does to you? Relieves you of every ounce of common sense you may, previously, have held onto? When I checked today, Metoffice and BBC both updated, since my last visit, to favourable conditions just before the festival. 🤞
  12. You’re probably going to think this is really geeky… My main hobby is riding rollercoasters. Travelling all over Europe (and America later this year) visiting different theme parks and riding their coasters. Almost any free time is spent in a park. A day on park getting as many rides as possible usually involves 25k steps as a very minimum, often more. I am a 30 minute drive from Alton Towers, so visit there at least once a week, and that place definitely piles on the steps. On top of this my job involves standing and moving for up to 12 hours. And I also have 2 fairly big demanding dogs. So despite my large (read fat) physique, I actually feel fairly fit. But for that ‘extra spring’ in my step, and to hopefully shed a few pounds, I’m hitting the gym every other night and will do the local park run / 5k every week until Glastonbury. Then I’ll spoil it all with too much cider and food at the festival. 🙈😂🤦🏻‍♂️

  14. Ahhh so they wouldn’t show in the table at the top of the ticket either way? good to know 🙂
  15. Thought so. So there is technically still time, but you'd have expected more of a song and dance about it by now. My phone is on Three, which is usually reliable in busy areas, as not many people seem to use Three, but I also have an EE e-sim installed too as a backup. For power, as there's 2 of us, who both use an electronic cigarette as well as a mobile, we are taking our Jackery 240, and will just charge everything over night, and safe-store it in the day. With a small power bank between us for emergency use towards the end of a long day.
  16. Am I remembering rightly that they were advertising the ability to pre order your first one wayyy before previous festivals? Never been to Glasto, but I swear I saw the adverts to pre order. EDIT: Nope, not imagining it, page is still live https://accessories.ee.co.uk/festivalpowerbar
  17. Just been to collect my tickets from the delivery office... Few things to note, but I will preface this by saying I am absolutely NOT worried, just thought I'd share for anybody in a similar position who may be. We booked Sticklinch in the most recent resale. And we'd been holding out on booking parking until we knew for sure if we'd get a resale pre-erected spot or not. So naturally when Sticklinch was confirmed, we also booked Sticklinch parking. Our tickets say at the top that no parking has been booked, and obviously no parking pass came with them. This is clearly because they were printed before I booked parking, and the parking pass will follow at a later date. But just thought I'd mention it.
  18. Fairly sure they don't have machines that can package up the tickets making sure to include any relevant parking / CV tickets... Since the building they own up town is tiny, and seems to be just offices. I could be wrong, maybe it is automated, or has automated stages at least, but there will surely be some manual oversight still. Can you imagine if the machine got out of pace by just one envelope, and everybody got somebody elses tickets to their address? 🙈
  19. Oh no I spoke too soon… first casualty!!! really must charge that ring doorbell 🙈😂
  20. I'm in the S.I.M camp too... But ours are Vango. They've always served us well, and we always get a nice nights kip. Got fed up with even the most expensive airbeds deflating over night!
  21. As I live in a small village (not actual Derby, but close) I fully expect my postie to do his usual thing, ignore the 1pm requirement and post them at around 3:30. Assuming it's the normal postie on today that is. As much as I want them in my hands, it is always reassuring to know his pattern. Of course, if it's his day off (they deliver 7 days around here lately, so gets 2 random days off) then all bets are off. Tickets look great though.
  22. Are camper van tickets posted as physical tickets? Somebody on Reddit said that they say the same thing as WV / Sticklinch on the see tickets website... Something like "these tickets are not despatched by see tickets"
  23. Not too bad then. Whereabouts in Notts are you? I always just tell people Derby, but I'm actually close to the Notts / Derbys border. Not too far from Ilkeston. Over a 3 hour drive for us too.
  24. See, this is what I'm worried about, that would be me! Must have been an absolute 'mare. I think I might keep them in my glasto bag for the entirety of the next month! Time to start packing other things anyway...
  25. The question is... How do you guys usually keep your tickets safe for a month? Any special treatment? Any traditional hiding places? Anyone ever had to turn around and drive home after setting off because they forgot their tickets? I know I'll get them through the post, it's what happens to them between then and the festival I'm worried about 🙈😂
