  1. That's what I was getting at when I said it would be unlikely to meet their threshold. You could do it but the way it was handled in the end was the better way to do it imo.
  2. Just if anyone is reading this, the charity commission investigate serious complaints of harm and illegal activity about a charity. Being spoken to in a sh*tty way and told to sign in to your shift in a field you can't get to are really unlikely to meet that threshold. Glad they apologised and I'd agree with what other people have said that sometimes you need some self advocacy to ensure your needs are met. Everyone is a volunteer with different abilities.
  3. Any more context there?

    Iicon bigger surely?
  5. My experience as a a gate organiser was that as you have no shift sheets you had no idea about any RAs that people might have. So people were having to self declare them to me at the start of a shift so they weren't standing in the sun etc, which isn't what you want and not everyone is comfortable doing that. The gate supervisor, who had the list, obviously had about 60 stewards to get through to sign in and find out who had the RAs . He did in fairness get to everyone but because of a couple of incidents at the start of the shift that took about 2 hours. I ended up just asking everyone individually in a quiet moment if they had any RAs they felt comfortable sharing that I should know. Which worked really effectively and I actually discovered a couple of things that weren't listed but we could accommodate for. It is down to the supervisor but also Oxfam aren't always the best at every situation!

Alongside other stuff mentioned they need to submit an event management plan to the council 180 days before the festival, this must include a noise management plan (and venue, site and crowds plan). A major change like Thursday stage operations would be in this and would in all probability be a) consulted on for the community and b) discussed in a planning meeting. That plan had to be in by 29th December and there hasn't been any news about it. They have to submit the final version 30 days before so it could, in theory, change still.
  11. I was more playing on the joke about people having different views on what "next Friday" means.
  12. I love the optimism here that when Emily said "next week" she meant this week coming up immediately and not the week after that. She has form.

Manchester Arena was open again within 3 1/2 months compared to that it has taken a long time. The circumstances are obviously different I am just surprised it's taken so long to sort out the management and control issues.

Who'd have thought when it happened that the venue would be shut for 16 months. That's taken so long.
  15. If anything surely it's less likely?. You'd think if there is an agreement not to announce her early so they can sell BST they'd want to give it a good 24 hour grace period?
  16. What she said was "sometimes we'll do something before Christmas but what I'm really hoping for is to just announce the full lineup at the begining of the year" Everyone seems to have just sort of assumed that this meant "early in the new year". Clear now that this meant (at least ) just sticking to their usual schedule without headliners.
  17. And you're not gonna get sacked! Worst your not asked back next year but that's vanishingly unlikely if you're not maliciously incompetent.
  18. Yup this is all we know pretty much. Arcadia probably getting their helicopter. Rabbit hole replaced by some sort of LGBT venue. Oh the assumption there's usually about 2 big changes each year that might be it or there could be something else. Top of most people's shortlist for areas to be refreshed with new stages are probably Unfairground and Shangri-la. Which would be quite a lot of change in one year alongside tech upgrades for the stages etc.

    2024 Headliners

I said they hit the same audience not that they were the same proposition. Which one's ABBA and which is Joy division, come on they're not as different as those two. Dua has a lot of pop and ORod can also do a lot of the rock stuff. You're still aiming at a 18-29 mostly pop centred audience.

    2024 Headliners

Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo are hitting very similar audiences though, they at least try to change it up over the 3 days. If someone was stepping up to headline I don't think it'd be her.
  21. Audi presents is terrible even for wilderness 🤣
  22. In awe of the people who do FMS and don't know how you manage to have fun on the off shifts!

    2024 Headliners

I'm of a similar view, I'd be surprised if he sustains and increases his intensity through to 2025/26 to be headlining the pyramid.
  24. Err as I can remember the ones on the main "street" were for show but there were definitely side alleys and stuff to go down.
