  1. DDiamond being banned is fucking outrageous tbh. Electronica thread rise up
  2. Yeah agree entirely. Unsure why every post has to be dead serious discussion, feels like long term users are being banned willy nilly, and maybe some people do actually like Mika. Saying that obvs (VPNs aside) Neil would be able to see who is making sock/alt accounts mind (IP Address, MAC address maybe) which is absolutely embarrassing behaviour tbh so fair enough id probs ban too.
  3. Stressed about this to be honest. Coach from Liverpool so absolute earliest I can be through the gates is after midday. Thinking Pennard will be completely full, Oxylers and Paines maybe too. Was hoping for a more lively campsite than Dairy last time but not looking good.
  4. Yeah agreed. I’m sure I nipped for a piss halfway through and found my way back reallly easily.
  5. Nonsense haha I’d a mate who was in a k-hole that had to lay down for the entire set (we were only there for the acts either side of her and then couldn’t leave due to mentioned k hole). we were pretty central and maybe 15/20 rows back and him lying there all set was literally no bother.
  6. It wasn’t massive no, it was big but it wasn’t uncomfortable. Wasn’t nearly as busy as the Other headliners that weekend. It was more noticeably big because it was bigger than Loyle Carner and Dave either side of her (and consisted of a festival-goer demographic I’d never experience until that point).
  7. Lol I know the forum skews older but this is so much older than I expected so far.

It was very hard to get tickets for DAMN tour in the UK, at least for venues I tried for I wasn’t able to get tickets.

Reckon there’s basically almost no chance this song is ever performed live tbh if that’s any comfort.

On about listen 5 now or so. do think it’s great, I don’t think it’s as good as GKMC or TPAB, think there’s definitely a lull in the middle, but plenty of great stuff. N95, Purple Hearts and Mr Morale the big tracks for the live set, Die Hard too I suppose but I’m not big on it. United in Grief, Auntie Diaries and Mother i Sober are so intense. His mentions of Keem on it and their relationship has made me view Keem in a different light; and I think it’s really nice that Kendrick has basically just really helped out his cousin. Good for him.

Tiny fraction of people tweeting angrily about it, almost entirely gen Z people. All of the queer people I have on socials who would pay attention to that kind of thing either emotionally love the song and what Kendrick is trying to do, or are making ironic jokes about it.

I love We Cry Together, think it’s a great semi-skit. Yeah it’ll probably get skipped in time but so do most of Biggies.

Ah yeah course. id argue that’s the same as the other two songs though, as he’s making a point about his own (and everyone else’s) morality. He’s not meant to be a good person using the correct language in the context of that song.

I think that Auntie Diaries is a lovely track, and it is brave and significant for a rapper of Kendrick’s stature to include a song like that on a mainstream album. The use of the word is obliviously to demonstrate how wrong it’s use is. There are huge issues of homophobia and transphobia in black American communities and Kendrick is addressing that. Bitch (and the n-word) are frequently used in black American vernacular in non-derogatory manners to refer to men and women. I can’t really think top of my head where the word bitch is used derogatorily about a woman in this album other than in We Cry Together, which is obviously while he’s role playing a character.

Die Hard is a dud imo
  16. I enjoyed his surprise Printworks set in the Redacted Series whenever clubs reopened. But like it was just his standard set, and I think has probs put me at the threshold of how arsed I am to see it again. Think I’d really not enjoy seeing him again.

I feel similarly to how I did after TPAB, in that the lyricism is amazing, and it’s extremely interesting, but I’m not sure I’m loving it from a musical standpoint. I ended up loving TPAB after a few listens, so I’ll probably be the same here. Definitely of the TPAB mould, rather than the GKMC/DAMN mould. Unsure how that translates into a live show, I feel GKMC/DAMN lends themselves better to a live show.
  20. Ooft what an end to the festival that would be
  21. Aye Floorplan is strictly gospel house, disco house and house in my experience. It’s a great set every time tho.

Dunno I’m a huge fan and seen him twice, but the R+L dead set plus various bad US sets over the years does worry me. Hip-Hop live generally is the most bit and miss genre I think, just based on the practicalities of it largely being one person rapping (see Little Simz and earlier Kanye for how it can and should be done). I hope it’ll be sick, I’ll be there and I like @Matt42’s logic that he won’t be burnt out due to lack of touring, but inversely I do worry he wont bring much production because he isnt touring.
  23. Anyone fancy hazard a guess at when Avalon Emerson might play. Never seen her.
