You’re projecting feelings upon them. There’s absolutely no suggestion the band is having an “identity crisis” or any indication this project is any more an Alex project than the preceding 6 albums were - he has always been the primary song writer.

Lot of reasons: Silk Sonic's impact in the UK was fairly limited - Silk Sonic's album peaked at 9 in the UK Album charts, their only US number 1 single peaked at 20 in the UK and their highest peaking UK single peaked at 12; Silk Sonic as far as I can see have literally only played about 6 award shows, and then like 30 shows as part of a Las Vergas run. They've never even played an arena, never mind a festival; Paak still tours and plays with the Free Nationals regularly; Bruno Mars is a very expensive act to book, It is highly unlikely he would play at Glastonbury for fee or billing they'd give him; Personally Paak's output with the Free Nationals is a magnitude better than the stylings of Silk Sonic, and I think a lot of the people on a forum like this with would rather have that; and Bruno Mars is shit.

TBH&C outsold Folklore in their respective first weeks in the UK, but Folklore went on to get 80k more sales total (300k v 220k), so it actually might be close. I'd be backing Taylor though.

Yeah not watched any footage but I’m fine with the setlist tbh. it would be nice to see Flourescent, Certain Romance, Mardy Bum and when the sun goes down, but there’s plenty of other bangers in the set. They can’t just play a hits set when they’ve more recent albums. suck it and see is a heaping pile of shite album, and it’s weird to see people on here championing for more tracks with it in a set list when they’ve got 5 better albums to pick from, plus a new one.

I think you are being harsh, its not necessarily a cash-in to re-tour old material. For the 2013/14 AM Tour, it's actually comparable. The Album came out on 9 September 2013. They kicked off the tour on 22 May 2013, and played only 2 tracks from AM (R U Mine and Do I Wanna Know), one of which was already out as a single. in July, 2 months into the tour they were still only playing those 2 tracks from AM - stayed that pretty much until album release. This time there's been no singles, and it's literally one gig into the tour, so when the album releases the setlist will change significantly. The AM setlist literally went from 2 AM tracks, to 10. In 2013 tour kick off they played 1 new song, in 2022 they have played 0 new songs, So I think you are being reactionary. Shit one for those fans at the start of the tour (maybe, I saw them in August 2013 and loved it), but it was the same in 2013.

Before this festival the flags annoyed me but I’ve come round, think they’re great. A signature and essential part of the festival. Would have been impossible to find mates without them.

Folamour’s flight was cancelled, he said on Insta that he travelled to multiple airports to try to make it work. it was a bit of a night ruiner for my lot too, we should have gone back for FloPo but just went stone circle instead - which was good as always but obvs not the same thing.
