The friend who got our groups tickets in 2020 got them doing this. I spend days before hand telling everyone in the group all the little tips and tricks: using a private browser; setting up keyboard shortcuts for reg numbers and postcodes etc. He completely forgot/didn’t bother, and had to swap apps between his browser and a Facebook group chat where all the details were listed (he hadn’t even written them down!), but he got the tickets - I didn’t get a sniff - so I basically treated him like a saint for a few weeks. Luckily he doesn’t use these forums so won’t see me shit-talking him - but James if you do see this get your shit together (unless of course you see this after the sale and you got our tickets - which very well may happen - in that case ignore al of the above.)

Can I ask about the validity of the poster who has ‘leaked’ the headliner info?

How selfish of the festival to remind their customers to double check their reg numbers/postcodes etc, don’t they know it personally harms my chances of getting a ticket if more people are able to try for tickets? Disgraceful.

Not sure why people seem to suggest The Killers every year. The last time they played R&L was in 2008 - 15 years ago by the time of the 23 festival - and they’ve toured a hell of a lot in those 15 years. I feel that maybe the festival isn’t suited to them anymore.

Starting to get some serious ticket day anxiety now. Have avoided it by not reading through this thread but for some reason couldn’t help myself today. Just checked - on the booking page link posted on this thread - and all registrations seem correct, just got a ‘admission not on sale yet’ message, rather than a ‘registration couldn’t be found,’ so I’m assuming I’m all good? Still got to set up/update the keyboard shortcuts on my phone as a few of the people on my group have had a postcode change. That’s what got me my tickets in the 2019 resale! 2 weeks tomorrow and we’ll all know our fate!

Also a teacher, thought the same but after discussing with my partner (who is also a teacher), we’re going to try for tickets again. But I realise it might mean a lot of teachers (and I know a fair few who go!) might not try after the price rise.

Feels awful to say but I’m glad that that price will likely mean, as someone trying to get tickets, I’m more likely to get one. Got to price a fair few people out, that’s quite the increase.

Chances of Greenday, Blink or Paramore being there is pretty high right? Any of those would merit a day ticket from me.

Yea £105 for front standing at Blink is insane, was going to get tickets but now hoping they’re at Reading so I can go for the day instead - the fact that a day ticket for Reading will be the same as their gig price says something

Not noticed this thread before but have been reading through it a lot lately. I haven’t been to many gigs recently (trying to save money!) There are a couple acts who have stood out for me as either being particularly good or particularly bad, thought it’d be good to see other peoples opinions. I’ll keep it limited to the past year or so, otherwise the list will get too long: GOOD - BMTH - I saw them at Reading in 2015 and remember it being one of the best gigs I’d ever seen, saw them here and there since then, and caught them this year at Reading as well. Wasn’t expecting much as they’d been pretty average since 2015, but they absolutely blew me away. - Yard Act - Absolutely stunning, like watching poetry. Saw them in Birmingham a month or so ago, the lead singer freestyled a whole verse for an extra 5 minutes to one of the songs, I was in awe. - The 1975 - Proper show, amazing. BAD - Arctic Monkeys - saw them headline Reading, absolutely woeful. - Fontaines D.C. - Saw them twice, really excited both times, but was just really disappointed. - Sam Fender - Hate to say it because I’m a big fan but every time I’ve seen him it’s just felt boring and uninspired.

That’s the worry, you could easily have someone join more than two groups. If they’re posting regularly here then yea should be fine. Luckily I have a group of 6 so this doesn’t affect me, but for those it does would creating a spreadsheet be useful? That way at least you know people are only in one group!

May as well get this started. Anyone got any ideas for headliners? Maybe Royal Blood, they were due to play at some point before it got cancelled because of COVID weren’t they?

Yea I reckon so too, I’m on holiday so that’s this rules out for me! I definitely want to go one year though. The headliners always seem a big all over the place for me though (in terms of size), I can never get a grasp on what calibre acts they can pull.

Any confirmed acts yet? I’m considering going to this for the first time since 2015! Although would only be from Friday to Sunday as I work in a school (could still catch the Thursday headliner though as I only live half an hour away). Also, when do people expect tickets to sell out by?
