  1. Not necessarily impossible but yeah, those circumstances make it likelier than not that they won't be around. Tbh, it's been so long since I'd last heard a Mumford & Sons song that I'd forgot they were still a thing.
  2. Was said up in the chat that this is a thing at Finsbury tbf. I believe both AM 2014 and QOTSA 2018 ended at 10:30 (or near enough), so would've said that had this not been mentioned.
  3. I did note this contains both Marcus Mumford solo and the full Mumford & Sons experience... does this raise the possibility other festivals they might turn up at may also have to get a double dose?
  4. Technically not a musical booking but I thought this was worth bringing up... Dunno what it is but I find the idea of the cast of Always Sunny in Philadelphia doing 2 shows (on the same day but still) in the grand old place that is the Royal Albert Hall to be an amusing one.
  5. I mean, there are some back-to-back dates looking at his diary and given that 24th date is in Plymouth, it's not a million miles away. Imo it's likelier not to happen than is given Plymouth, Bristol (well, Badminton Estate) and Glastonbury is quite the hyper-concentration of shows, but that's not to say it can be entirely ruled out.
  6. Setting aside the rumour she's doing Boygenius rather than her own stuff in 2023, Phoebe was 3rd down on a Rolling Stones bill opening for them and War on Drugs. Which is certainly a different change of pace to being 5th down and playing before Clairo and Pale Waves as was originally planned judging by the 2020 '75 FP poster.
  7. Be something if Jesse Marsch gets a new club before Leeds hire his replacement, and indeed, a club that is still yet to face Leeds at St Mary's. But yes, Southampton's strategy is making little sense. It kinda goes back to them getting their transfer policy wrong in the summer and seemingly primarily signing Man City's youth prospects.
  8. And indeed it was. We thinking that announcement means no APE stuff this week due to big London park show also being on sale at the same time or is that a possibly incorrect notion?

    The 1975

First album was a Dirty Hit release, and produced by the 1975's drummer, so yeah.
  10. Sounds like a lesson in stadium rock that given how long some big acts at that level tend to stretch songs out.
  11. One hour for Wet Leg as headline support, I'd have thought?
  12. I feel like an identical recreation of the last attempt at this one in 2020 might have been out of budget and price range, given some of the names they had along.

    The 1975

First I heard about this date came through this... Happy just to wait and see if they're doing their own dates instead.
  14. Not exactly because, as confirmed in this piece: U2 have enlisted a new drummer to temporarily replace Larry Mullen - who is he? (entertainment.ie) I was aware from an interview a few weeks ago that Larry Mullen said he was skipping 2023 touring duties due to a couple of surgeries he'd had, so the idea of a stand-in doesn't surprise me, even if it is a surprise who it is given I'd not heard of their prior work. It's quite something how divisive this has judging by a U2 fan page, given some are all for it and some really think they shouldn't be doing it with a stand-in drummer. Personally, I like the idea of Achtung Baby in full, moreso than when they did the Joshua Tree in full shows a few years back, and imagine this hi-tech venue might lead to a few Zoo TV Tour homages. But Las Vegas feels quite far away to want to join the party, to say nothing of dealing with Ticketmaster America, and I haven't heard whispers of any shows beyond this run of dates.
  15. They must have found a new sticks player, given Larry Mullen Jr says he needs a few surgeries and will be sitting out planned 2023 tour shows. As far as the sphere thing goes, I remember U2's Zoo TV tour in 1992/93 with a fuck-ton of screens as a satire of media overload, so quite funny that 30 years or so on, they're opening the literal overload arena.
  16. They're a bit more down the road than that, given that plans are advancing through the development roster and could go ahead soon if the Mayor of London says yes after local area approval: London's MSG Sphere venue plans advance despite local objections (nme.com) Feel like I'd rather have more smaller venues built given the rate they've been closing. Even if this one is planning to include a 1,500 venue as part of its plans.

    The 1975

I'd be happy to see them at their own show instead. Were one of my favourites in lockdown. But I dunno maybe or whatever.
  18. Pretty much, yes. It's still quite bizarre to think Jones' only game against Guardiola was one he actually won when they came face-to-face in the Carabao Cup. Though given it got us that instead of Man City in our CC semis, and we duly won both legs, not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.
  19. VAR having to admit they made mistakes for both a Brighton goal disallowed at Crystal Palace (offside lines drawn on the wrong player) and Brentford goal allowed at Arsenal (lines not drawn at all) feels like another week for them and their increasingly erratic decision making.
  20. I mean, I did ponder if it would be a tricky one to get into as a let's play of the original game on YouTube is still 10 hours of good quality drama. But yeah, the cast is good, the branch out from Joel/Ellie moments when picked have added depth to it, and they've got the look of the Clickers and Bloaters just right. So, yeah, I'm happy with how its gone so far. There's a few action set-pieces I'd have kept, but I'm not gonna say its a dealbreaker yet. Adapting Part 2 I think might be more difficult as that game is so sprawling and dense.
  21. Yeah the dates would work in theory but why go to the trouble of doing a big tour announcement graphic with APE only noteworthy by its absence. Should've just gone to the rescheduled Birmingham date a few weeks ago like I planned then. Woops.
  22. Well that gives time to figure out best routes there or if indeed logistically possible. Thanks for the guidance.

    BRITs 2023

Forgot this was on, saw ten minutes including Tom Grennan's odd line in banter and the Wet Leg singer's Alex Turner cosplay, got bored and changed over to EFL highlights. I mean, A for effort?
  24. There's another time tbf where I think such a gamble might well have worked as they did have some OK moments, even accounting for the dissonance that is Jones having had two great spells at Luton either side of a dreadful one at Stoke. But I guess a grim record of only beating Frank Lampard in a Premier League game and digging a hole with increasingly erratic comments didn't help.
  25. There's a danger of letting great become the enemy of good I guess. Ofc a top 5 finish and making the Carabao Cup Final is a good season, but it might not feel like that if the twin carrots of a Champions League place and winning the damn thing aren't fulfilled. I'll worry more about the final and whether or not we win (which, please for the love of God!) after Liverpool next week.
