  1. In theory, yes, but I suspect that this gig only being a few tube stops east in Upminster and on the same weekend as one of the APE days is a mark against. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a thing about this being an exclusive show for the London area.
  2. I found it enough of a bizarre line to think that 2021 was ten years on from seeing Muse at Reading playing Origin of Symmetry in full to celebrate 10 years since that first came out in 2001. That works too. Already seen a few choice "This album is 20 years old this year!" articles, to say nothing of going even further back with it.
  3. Off topic but Chase & Status, Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight have been announced as doing gigs as part of the MotoGP race at Silverstone, which is a slightly different vibe to doing R&L.
  4. We are where we are with the shrinking demographic that can own Premier League football clubs. I'd like to see one try it to prove it can succeed with this model in England, but it feels like majority fan-owned clubs peak at League One in the English football ecosystem.
  5. I'd been worried about hearing this when the initial declaration he'd been rescued was retracted. One thing he played for my favourite club but more or less the same age as me as well, and a parent whose family I can only have sympathies for. Just an awfully sad story.
  6. Sold out SJP twice, Fender, to go with jumping Foals into the bigger headline spot at Reading in its new messy twin-stage format. Whatever his stature currently is, he's certainly got into a bigger spot than I think many expected. It was quite something to me tbf to think he still did the twice-rescheduled dates with The Killers at the Emirates Stadium then a few weeks later was up the road at Finsbury Park playing to a comparably sized crowd.
  7. I mean, I think there's demand for them to do it, but not the calendar space if it's following this format of just a Fri/Sat/Sun arrangement. Tbf I think they could've booked a bigger place, maybe even one of London's many stadiums all variously offering concert opportunities. But if this works for their requirements. As said elsewhere, I'm mainly hoping for The Japanese House to return with their own show as that's literally it for this date for what I wanna see.
  8. I mean I just had a look at this one and it's only premium or VIP tickets left, which... I think I'll go spend my money elsewhere.
  9. Depends on what it is imo. Some things I can imagine working well as a live format, some things I think just work fine as just picking up on Spotify.
  10. I think Chelsea of the 1998-2003 period were slightly higher than Spurs by that logic, in that they could swipe the odd trophy and challenge for the league title without being at the same level of Man United and Arsenal. Though clearly Spurs as they are don't have the financial vulnerabilities Chelsea had in 2003 that saw their path coincide well with Roman's idea to join in on PL club ownership.
  11. Yup: Bernardo Silva opens up on 'tough' challenge of playing at left-back for Man City - Manchester Evening News Apparently he also played this role in the previous weekend's game against Aston Villa, which I didn't watch so wasn't aware of that being tried out beforehand. Curiously, it also says that when he was at Benfica several years ago, his then-boss tried that and his response was to hand in a transfer request. Though given there's been rumours for a few years now that he wants a new challenge, maybe that wouldn't be out of the question.
  12. Man City would help themselves if Guardiola stopped his habit of picking odd teamsheets. Bernardo Silva at left-back yesterday was lucky not to get punished more than it did.
  13. This won't happen but has anyone seen Niko Kranjcar?
  14. First released in November 2009, so... yeah. Very much an older cut now.
  15. Give it a shot in the O2 Priority sale? Cos it seems like a hot ticket Same with Dublin, given a second show has been added over there.
  16. I still think of this lot for the American Dad episode where Stan Smith becomes irrationally obsessed with My Morning Jacket... moreso than the actual music if I'm totally fair.
  17. Like a high-end version of the player trades Watford and Udinese used to organise then. Assuming the Qataris don't decide to offload PSG as part of this. Though I imagine that might be quite a complicated addition to what's already a tricky transaction.
  18. It's genuinely quite something to me that for all the money PSG have to play with, one of their starting players in a Champions League knockout tie is 16. They seem in an odd place atm, mind, given they're out of the French Cup, now in danger of a second consecutive Champions League last 16 exit, have been out of form in Ligue 1 as well, and there's talk of various star players wanting out in the summer. Not to mention talk those behind the Qatar cash at PSG are interested in acquiring Manchester United, which would be a bit of a distraction.
  19. Indeed Billie Eilish might be part of that crowd as she said in an interview she was a big fan of Hot Fuss, including a certain headline-grabbing observation: Billie Eilish used to “sit in the car and cry” to The Killers' 'Mr Brightside' (nme.com) But yeah at the stadium show of TK's I saw last year and a lot of videos from other dates, there's a cross-section of ages there including some who would've been in their teens/early 20s when The Killers blew up and some of that age group now.

    U2

That would be cool tbf. I ponder if Zooropa or Pop might get a song or two sneak in, given celebration the 90s logically means throwing in those harder sell albums. Though I say this as someone who likes Pop, which isn't necessarily something U2 themselves seem to have been at times.

    U2

They've not announced specific dates yet, have they? I think there's an element of worrying about that first, then we'll see the unquestionably pricey ticket cost we'll be confronted with.
  22. There's a few clubs or pubs with lights on that play Reach for the Stars a lot purely for those purposes tbf.
  23. Not necessarily impossible but yeah, those circumstances make it likelier than not that they won't be around. Tbh, it's been so long since I'd last heard a Mumford & Sons song that I'd forgot they were still a thing.
  24. Was said up in the chat that this is a thing at Finsbury tbf. I believe both AM 2014 and QOTSA 2018 ended at 10:30 (or near enough), so would've said that had this not been mentioned.
  25. I did note this contains both Marcus Mumford solo and the full Mumford & Sons experience... does this raise the possibility other festivals they might turn up at may also have to get a double dose?
