  1. Put them down as a maybe aha. Although maybe they're also doing KoL at Hyde Park, given the support bill for that beyond Paolo Nutini & The Vaccines is yet to be declared.
  2. Does this mean the example cited earlier of people sending in McDonald's addresses is now not allowed anymore?
  3. Exactly. Muse's MK Bowl show last year was £90-95, to say nothing of that almost being a standard price for most stadium shows this summer going on elsewhere both last year and this year. So I think it's quite a good strategy, and if he sells out or at least gets a 50k+ crowd, those are decent numbers.
  4. I give a sh*t, but only because I'm local to Milton Keynes and have felt its been underused for too long so I am happy that its hosting shows again, if counter-balanced by the fact that this year, none of what it is hosting is of interest to me. I remember in lockdown they briefly flirted with the idea of doing drive-in concerts there only for Live Nation to abort the idea before they went through with it. That would've been a very odd experience.
  5. I mean, the closest nod to doing something special last year was playing a few Absolution deep cuts to mark 20 years since that came out. Big regret is still missing out on the 2017 by request show at Shepherd's Bush, which was pretty much all B-sides, album tracks and obscure singles from the first 4 albums.
  6. In the Royal Blood case (or also Interpol's Antics tour that goes on sale tomorrow), yes, but I'm pretty sure some bands have done an "Anniversary of formation" thing before.
  7. Tbf Muse could do that given they were founded 30 years ago last month, but they seem to have opted for a year off. As that's a band I grew up a fan of, that would indeed tick that box.
  8. I'd take them bringing back the B-side Hole, which was their concert opener for much of 2014 and duly the first song I heard when I saw them on the NME Awards Tour and thought it was great.
  9. You know we're all getting old when 2014 albums are getting the anniversary tour treatment.
  10. Well we've seen the whole thing that Coldplay have been seen as being a bit of a stale booking given this will be their 5th go around at the gig. So yeah, I can see the idea of booking Muse for a fourth time would feel a bit "So what?" to a general audience, particularly given their last 3 albums weren't exactly producing hits. And I say this as someone who is a very big fan of theirs and had a great time at Milton Keynes Bowl last summer. I saw a few people under 30 at Finsbury last year tbf. Maybe having Wet Leg as support helped.
  11. Would you say that there were more or less names than this? I am aware of the weather tbf. Think in 2017 the two headliners on the first night were washed out by a thunderstorm.
  12. If this turns out to be a success, would this make it possible that he's in the mix for headlining R&L next year? Or do we think he could just make this more of a thing.
  13. Would be quite the impressive get in fairness. But I would be very surprised.
  14. Second night in London is my guess.
  15. They played both that and Light Years when I saw them in Milan in 2018 before they were both present on I Am Easy To Find and I thought they were both really good. Even if that album has a bit of a hit-and-miss reputation, they're both cool options to pick for a show. Saying that, they could easily be 4 hours long setlists if they throw in everything.
  16. I saw both Dune 1 and 2 this week and I wasn't 100% sure if I got it. It was visually impressive and there were some neat performances, but I do ponder if I wanted something more within a near 5 hour run time for the pair of them.
  17. They had Nothing but Thieves in a low position last year so I'm not 100% convinced its them. Killers feels likelier than Coldplay or Foos imo, although I think R1BW is while they're still on the first part of their US festival run.
  18. Certainly I know a few had suggested Green Day for Glastonbury as an idea and if they had done it this year, I think they'd have done a decent job, even if they'd probably have a few bewildered as to how their live show still hems very close to what they were doing in the American Idiot days 20ish years ago. Muse, I'm not sure on. When they were last asked about it, they seemed happy to have done it 3 times and I'm aware they're not quite the draw they were in the Resistance/2nd Law era. Though I'm sure if they were offered they'd accept. I mean, Werchter keep asking them back.
  19. Be quite something if they headlined again through the exact way that they got the bump up to do it in 1995.
  20. As I recall, it was Pulp/Strokes co-headlining, but with a different act closing as per different halves of the split site arrangement for R&L (Pulp then Strokes at Reading, Strokes then Pulp at Leeds).
  21. It's weird how Lollapalooza Berlin is a continual disappointment when the brand can pull out decent line-ups at its premier Chicago event.
  22. The UK shows were originally meant to be a month from now, so presumably anyone who'd scheduled hotels and travel and all the rest is going to be narked.
  23. Moby’s 2024 UK and European tour dates are: SEPTEMBER 19 – The O2, London, England 21 – Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium 22 – Velodrome, Berlin, Germany 23 – Mitsubishi Electric Hall, Düsseldorf, Germany 24 – Le Zenith, Paris, France Space is there for an extra date on the 18th too.
  24. I don't know if an independent regulator will necessarily solve something like the anti-refereeing conspiracy clubs like Nottingham Forest, whose owner seems to have genuine hatred for the officials, or something like the Man City case, which increasingly feels like something other than just a FFP breach given what's been discussed by financial pros. But I'm aware transparency is one of those things a lot of people are for in theory but botch when trying to make happen in practice. So I'm aware of the scepticism some might have for it work. Not least given this is being trialled by the UK government, an institution well known for its transparency or firm regulators. Some clubs, I can see the appeal. I know the touch-paper was Bury and Macclesfield being destroyed by terrible owners, and the current nightmare being seen at Reading (18 points deducted in 3 seasons and an owner that seems to be actively be trying to run it into the ground).
