  2. OMG. I’ve just met the man himself!
  3. Yes saw it. Very thought provoking and clever the way the living trees go through the pictures
  4. a wander up to the Tollpuddle tree and union castle. First time I’ve been here when it’s deserted! Usually full of folk escaping the sun!
  5. guess who is signing books! And posters !
  6. Looking at the weather Tomorrow I might need an underwater camera
  7. Just had our first wander about the site ,and first beer it’s utterly magical being back on the farm. And seeing all the kids enjoying themselves. Got a pyramid view from the tent and had my first experience of the compost lavs as they are always too busy during the festival
  8. Ta. Just 460 miles for us to go!
  9. Unload car then park it in car park? Getting ready to leave home, car packed, extra wellies added, waterproof trousers, those see through mushroom shaped umbrellas , the full Glasto bad weather protection kit. Hope the bar has shelter.
  10. Yes reckon NZ has got it right. My daughter and family think so. Nows the time to ramp up the vaccine roll out and I would include secondary school kids in that. Then a gradual open up of international travel . Such a beautiful and diverse country for staycation holidays why would anyone want to go elsewhere anyway apart of course for Glastonbury!
  11. great. you can just hear his wonderful soft spoken accent as you read it , something so very comforting about it!
  12. Have camped in the lake district in late September so ready for a bit of cold and damp. Got throws to line the sleeping bags. Also have spare bits of ground sheet to keep the dampness off equipment. All systems go and leaving tomorrow evening for an overnight drive , breakfast at brewers Fayre , a wander around the town then off to the farm for 11 check in. Military precision planning. 😉
  13. I’m going through the pre fest worrying check the weather anxiety!
  14. Yes, walked the site many times pre pandemic restrictions and interesting to see fields such as spring ground in crop and sometimes hard to imagine where things are in festival time . The railway walk is the best way to get your bearings. And the covered up long drops!
  15. There will be a resale in April of any available campervan tickets probably at the same time the Worthy View resale is. Don’t think they are transferable. Check the festival website.
  16. Cheers for that. Boots and wellies packed. Seems we are in Jersey ground which is quite a coincidence since we just returned from a week’s holiday in Jersey!
  17. Ta! Full Glasto kit packed in preparation for all weathers with a few luxuries such as quilted sleeping bags. added incredibly just as I’m typing this an e Mail alert from them has arrived. !
  18. The message my daughter got. Just think the NZ folk are a bit more compliant and have understood exactly what their PM is doing and why , unlike us.
  19. When do you get the email detailing tent number and location. ?
  20. Heard that, what a twat. Oh, and to return to acts touring around glastonbury time, Muse are in Majorca on June 24
  21. My daughter called us last night from NZ after a dash to the supermarket ! Seems Auckland is back in lockdown. Are they being over cautious? It must be having a detrimental affect on the tourism industry. We are still hoping for a trip over late 2022. Meanwhile keep the faith and we will see the NZ and Aussie flags on the pyramid field come June.
  22. Got me , hook line and fucking sinker. Laurence and his leather trousers. 😁
  23. Been camping almost every summer for over 55 years, not just festivals, and bringing my pillow that I am used to is the essential luxury! Also useful for the overnight sleep in the car park. Got called all sorts of un PC names as a teenager for bringing one to boys brigade camp.
  24. That’s what we’ve got, though the pump soaks up the power in the 4 D cell batteries. The Tesco single airbeds are decent and by putting one on top of the other during the day it creates a bit of space to get dressed etc. As you say at this time of year they can be bought cheaper as stocks are cleared out.
