    2024 Headliners

Was unsure where else to put this, but I know there’s been some mention of Depeche Mode potentially doing a run of dates (including Glasto next year) We’re at their show in Berlin tonight and it seems next years dates are getting announced tomorrow, so might have some indication early doors as to whether they’re in or out

    Guns n Roses

That just seemed a really fun old-school headliner set from what I saw on the telly. Axel’s voice shot to bits, Slash absolutely nailing the guitar but they just looked like they were having fun and the crowd did too. We overcomplicate a lot on here about festivals a lot of the time but just having a good time is what it’s all about at the end of the day
  3. Just over two weeks ago when we saw AM in Boro I said to my wife afterwards that it was the best form I’d seen them in for nearly 10 years. Switched it off early tonight, full style over substance turn from Yorkshire Elvis. A real shame.
  4. Blur getting added tomorrow by the looks of it on Social Media
  5. Meant to pop up here yesterday but this weekend has fully wiped me out, how hot was it man! Few things just as an overall thought in response to what many have said; 1) Having not done Download for a considerable number of years I absolutely loved this; crossed so many names off the list and all were at least good or really impressed me (Alter Bridge, Pendulum, Slipknot, Disturbed and Evanescence) 2) Ghost walk into a headline slot next Download 3) Metallica arguably in the best form I’ve seen them since I seen them 10 year ago With regards to the dual main stage set up, my twopenneth is whilst I think it would work (felt like there was about 100million people at Evanescence) I don’t like it when UK festivals do it because they don’t do it for quality reasons, they usually do it to strip everything back and save themselves a fortune. And it absolutely wouldn’t work at Download unless they added another stage I don’t think. But I would just keep it the way it is; if they want to promote “weaker” headliner options just keep a very small programme on the Thursday to help give the organisers the option of booking 3 headliner size bands whilst promoting another one each year. But to conclude, brilliant weekend, line up depending will be there next year
  6. Creeper just been added, headlining DogTooth on the Saturday night
  7. It’ll go down like a lead balloon but I feel like that’s a big get for such a short space of time to book a big headliner
  8. It’s a bit annoying yeah, but I’ve wanted to see Evanescence since I first heard Fallen and I’ve never had the chance so I wasn’t missing them for anything. (With the way that day has ended up it also means I can probably tick Carpenter Brut off the list on the Friday night so I am delighted) Like a few on here the Disturbed/Simple Plan and Alexisonfire/Three Days Grace clashes that are causing our group the most headaches
  9. Timetable now live on the app. I’ve had a glance and I think it’s all come up fairly solid for me. Cannot wait for next Wednesday now!
  10. Hey Archi! Sorry for the delay. I’ve been looking at the stage plan to see if it was different from the time I went and it seems to be mostly the same for the first and second stages. As Mondo-Kun mentioned, there is a “golden circle” type set up for the main stage with a first come first serve set up. But the second stage faces the same way as the main stage does, meaning that you have to approach it from behind and access the stage by the side. If you wish to see both my advice would be to stand at left hand side of the second stage for MGK as fewer people tended to stand there compared to the right hand side. With the RHCP it’s probably best to decide on the day at what point you leave depending on how busy it is. Hope this helps! 😊
  11. It’s been mentioned but festivals sadly don’t have reserve headliners ready to go. I find the wording of it odd though, a few years ago when this happened with the Foos they published an excellent article about the process that they had to follow in order to bring Faith No More in. It’s probably still on Werchter’s website somewhere
  12. To be fair to them it looks a lot nice than the horizontal lines scattered haphazardly (imo, of course)

    Blur

Wife got in for 2 tickets for Newcastle this morning; we get back from Florida at 8am on the morning so it’s going to be a long day but not a chance I was missing seeing Blur so close to home in such an intimate venue!
  14. Hi, myself and a group of friends went back in 2019. We stayed for the full weekend but I’ll answer as best I can 😊 Pinkpop runs on a token based system rather than cash; but I would wait until you get to the festival for get your tokens as they used to have really convenient points located around the site and it was no more expensive to get them there. The food was really good at the festival too and decently priced; there used to be a two “streets” before you got to the main stage full of great food spots, bars and some cool things like vintage stores. From the centre of Landgraaf (the town around a 5 minute walk from campsite B) there used to be a late train, but I don’t know where it ran to or what time at but it could be worth sending them a message on Facebook. I would advise maybe staying to the right hand side of the stage for RHCP just so it’s easier for you to get out of the arena afterwards as the entrance used to lead into a field with a tent stage, go down past another tent but then it kind of bottle necked into the main field with the main and second stages (apologies if I haven’t worded that well, but it could make it a bit of a delay getting out at night) Bare in mind too that the festival grounds are located further away from the campsites (not too much, maybe 5 minutes) so factor this into your journey too. Hope this all helps, and have a great time! 😊
  15. Apologies, posted this in the wrong thread
  16. Just stumbled across this on Reddit. No idea why it doesn’t exist in the real world, it looks class
  17. Depending on the time table I don’t really think I’ve got many clashes; and there looks to be more than enough to fill a whole weekend. Absolutely buzzing; roll on Download
  18. That’s a shame; I always think the leak helps create a bit of a buzz/speculation haha. If I make my own list I’ll be furious when QOTSA and Limp aren’t added tomorrow 😂 I’ll keep an eye on that Reddit tonight. Don’t suppose anyone on there has mentioned a time for the announcement?
  19. I don’t believe Gojira or Limp Bizkit are getting added to a festival that’s already sold out at this stage; but if anyone could DM with the post or the list I would be grateful just to have a look. Even nonsense rumours are better than none just to get a bit of excitement at this stage haha
  20. I didn’t realise that they’re actually playing Nova Rock on the 10th as it’s not on their poster; still don’t think Austria is too far a journey to make. I would love to see them there, when they got added to Mad Cool last year I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed them considering I only knew a couple of songs, would love to see them again now I’m more familiar with them
  21. Would be stunned if a band of QOTSA’s size at this stage when it’s sold out. If The Distillers had a biggish slot what about Incubus as a replacement? Around at that time (looks like they’re at Croatia on the 9th and I don’t think I’ve missed anything else) Could be a good addition at this stage
  22. Full Thursday line up out, Gengahr is a lovely little bonus
  23. Charlotte De Witte added to the Barn on Thursday
  24. Apologies for the double post, but Tom Morello has also been added to Graspop. Who says no?
