    Kanye West

No I went and watched the video because I assumed Kanye hadn’t actually seen it and was just commenting on click bait, but she’s definitely going for the reference to that there. There’s no other reason for her to say it. Even in the way she say ‘I wait…’

    Diana Ross

The Sun again DIANA’S BIG DAY DIANA ROSS’s legends slot at Glastonbury is expected to be so popular, organisers are thinking of making the Pyramid Stage area bigger for the first time ever. The Supremes singer will perform on the Sunday, after a two-year Covid delay. Organiser Emily Eavis said: “I can’t think of anyone who won’t go and see Diana Ross. We’ve been waiting a long time for this.” Wonder when/why (the wonderwhy) she said that.

    Kanye West

It was a shitty thing for her to say. But yeah, Ye is likely rounding up every deplatformed person he can find to form a choir for his big closer. The obsession he holds for defying 'cancellation' by any means is fucking disturbing.

    Foals

Thinking about it, I'm sure that Kid A - one of the best albums of all time - would not be seen as one of the best albums of all time if it was called Kid Amnesiac, Part 1 or something to that effect, instead of just an album then another album later on from the same sessions(-ish). Would've been a disaster and changed the course of musical history.

    Foals

The lesson to be learned is that if a band releases two albums separately, they should just give them two different names. I get that the best double-albums exist for artistic purposes. I get albums that are released simultaneously that serve different purposes (Bright Eyes with I'm Wide Awake... and Digital Ash..., or the Boss with Human Touch and Lucky Town). But releasing a 'two-part project' that can be listened to one-part-at-a-time is just nonsense, and people are going to immediately think they're not listening to a fully-formed album. I do like both albums but I understand the criticism of the project as a whole and it could have been mostly avoided if not for a bizarre approach.

    Foals

It beats Faris Rotter scaring fans away from the gigs because they might play new songs.

    Foals

Not dismissing the complaints about their new song(s) but do y’all not think you’re expecting a bit much? They’re nearly 7 albums deep, 17 years as a band and also a massive mainstream rock act. Did people listen to Oasis - Dig Out Your Soul when it came out expecting it to be Morning Glory? I just think the band are at a mature point, so are we. The familiarity sells and curveballs aren’t likely.
  8. I think Sam Fender might be booked for Glastonbury.

    Foals

Do hope the album is out before Glastonbury. Would be a shame for what’s probably an album of summer party bangers not being out in time for their party of a set, and us getting introduced to songs while there.

    Foals

New album ‘Life is Yours’ coming in summer, according to a tweet I once read by the band on Twitter.

    Foals

Yeah the ‘trancey new single’ headline didn’t exactly come true. Sounds fairly standard for Foals, but like it a lot!
  12. it has only been a couple of months since announcement. Even The Strokes didn’t sell out that quickly.

    Kendrick Lamar

He played a show two months ago too, and announced an album for this year a few months before that. False dawns aplenty so far.

You’re the only one. That one was a riot. Seems a lot like the start of a new chapter.
  16. The last year of Bestival, where they didn’t exactly break da bank on the acts but still went under afterwards, it was revealed they still owed London Grammar £175k (unlikely to be their full fee as a fee should be paid up front too) after the fest. Glastonbury’s headline fee is reportedly £250k max, just to put into perspective about fees for artists and how even mid-sized events pay more than Glastonbury.
  17. That’s some very ‘finger in the air’ type reckoning going on, as with most convos about relevance. Her chart sales actually suggest more people rushed out to buy her last album in its first week than Wolf Alice’s latest (or Billie Eilish for that matter) despite being kept off number 1. People do know Wolf Alice, but at the moment they know them as a band who play loads of festivals in mid-card slots. People know Florence and the Machine as a headliner now because they’re around Europe headlining a bunch of festivals. That isn’t up for debate, the tour dates are available to see. I wouldn’t mind but on album #3, people on here were arguing F+TM weren’t big enough to headline (they were right I guess, as they were down to sub) and now one album later they are so far past ‘relevant’ that the festival would rather pick a R+L sub to headline? Florence and the Machine just need another single and then ‘relevance’ is restored. Talking without one is useless because there’s nothing much there to talk about.
  18. Two people who have good info, in fact. @endswithMJ also said a long time ago that Sam Fender was playing the Other Stage.
  19. Just say "Doja Cat won't play Glastonbury 2022" three times in a mirror and he appears.
