Tabloids are so often wrong about the headliners though. The Sun is the only one with any positive track record when it comes to reporting Glastonbury rumours. The Star reported that Harry Styles was due to play Glastonbury 2020 (he wasn’t) and that Oasis we’re gonna headline some time around 2014-2015 (they didn’t).

I guess it’s hard to remember with all these years put together but at that point it was pretty common knowledge that Kendrick and Taylor were headlining, I believe. eFestivals had reported them, Twitter knew about it… so the Mail story wasn’t coming from a super-secret place, it was reporting on rumours that already existed. It even says ‘fans are convinced…’ and reports that the odds have been slashed already (because of how convinced the fans are).

Did you read the articles though? They just noted that the tour dates accommodate a slot. Then the Mail said they reached out to a source which said he isn’t playing. There was no “we can exclusively reveal…” or “Harry has agreed to play” or anything. Just speculation, no better than our own.

Dre did mention performing alongside Kendrick at the performance so fear not. He also said "I had to talk Snoop and Eminem out of pulling their penises out”, with no mention of stopping Kendrick.

I agree she shouldn’t apologise. I agree Kanye is being a dickhead about it. I’m not contesting any of that. Yes, her stopping the show was only brought to my attention because of his reaction - it’s a common occurrence at live events and I wouldn’t have noticed or watched it otherwise. I just believe that, at 1:12, she changes her tone of voice to deliver an unnecessary line that 100% seems like a barb, then pauses 10 seconds for applause and cheers. I said it was a shitty thing to say because it seems like it. There are no allegiances in it, because I’m a grown-ass adult. Just calling it as I see it. I’m not the only one who thinks it. No need to make judgments on my character as to what my perception is. Why ‘team’ anything? They can both be wrong in their actions.

It’s their first headline set at the festival so it’ll be a different vibe to the ones that have come before. After a few years off, it could be a special gig with the right bells and whistles.

I did find the thing about them extending the field plausible and just about worth mentioning. Even if it’s not the first one ever, I guess it could happen. I doubt I’ll be there either. Tbh I doubt it’ll be as big a crowd as Kylie got.
