  1. I can’t make it next year. But I have two independent ticket groups that I’ll be trying for. I have nerves even though there is little personally on the line for me!
  2. The thing I love about this is that 15 minutes after waking at stupid o’clock you just accepted your situation and made coffee.
  3. Oh no! That’s very relatable. Apply coffee (to you, not the toddler) and hope for the best?
  4. I think that was for the 2013 festival? Neil posted instructions on here for how to use it but I was too anxious to leave my regular attempt and follow them! Friends came through with the goods that year though!
  5. The wait IS painful! You also need to factor in not sleeping tonight due to the adrenaline/despair.
  6. Hi all. I can’t go next year but can have a crack for someone if you want to PM me your details and the day/location you’re after.
  7. I hear you on this! 2023 is off the table for me but I have already started thinking about how to approach the idea of me attending in 2024 within my marital unit.
  8. So.. how is post Glastonbury life going for the rest of you internationals? I’m finding this winter brutal!! Since returning home a month ago I have had COVID, Gastro (due to the small human) and now a really bad cold (also due to the small human). That’s a lot for a four week period. It also feels like it hasn’t stopped raining and my city (Wellington, NZ) is falling apart with land slips everywhere. Hard to imagine being healthy and enjoying warm summers nights in those fields now 😔

    Foals

Just watched this one back and it helped me solidify why the performance didn’t connect with me on the night. It wasn’t about the music, they were epic! Awesome arrangements, technical playing and energy. The problem for me was some production choices they made. They went heavy with visuals at the expense of lighting meaning the stage and audience were dark. Then to make matters worse, there was not a single close up shot of any band member at any point during the set. The screens behind them were visuals only and the side screens were in a permanent long shot. So from the crowd you couldn’t see anything that was happening. I think people criticised Radiohead’s 2017 performance for the same reason and I get now. Foals crushed that set musically, but I couldn’t see it and didn’t feel involved in it.

    Lorde

Got around to rewatching this last night for the first time and it’s as good as I remember it being at the time! So much care and effort went into staging that show and for a notoriously difficult slot, she nailed it.

    BBC Coverage 2022

Does anyone know if the 4K coverage went ahead? Nothing on Iplayer but wondering if it was broadcast live in UHD? Keen to hear how it looked!
  12. I can’t see the Stones or Beyoncé doing it again. They both nailed it and probably don’t want to risk diminishing that by returning. U2 might feel they have unfinished business though given the weather and jet lag so I half expect them to have another run at it.
  13. Caught COVID on the flight back. Have been balancing that with jet lag and catching up on a parenting deficit. Still, what a trip!!! So glad I’m sick now rather than having it didn’t ruin the festival.
  14. This thread is a much better read now I have figured out how to ignore some users. Feel better soon all!
  15. Go well! You have the longest of the two flights behind you. I’m doing the same route but leave tonight.
  16. Same shit different day. Can you dickheads please start your own thread where you can lecture people about their misgivings in having a public conscience? Would be great to keep this one focused on who has caught COVID. Cheers
  17. It’s my last night in the UK before a 30 hour trip home. I’m a few pints down and I feel the need to declare that The festival was utterly brilliant. There has been way too much moaning on here. Yes, it was busy and some things weren’t as smooth as they should have been (international ticket collection, looking at you). But it’s still the greatest party in the world and I feel very privileged to have been here. I’m sure that the organisers would have faced a million problems in staging the festival at this time that we will never known about. But it was brilliant! Yet the views on here have seemed generally negative. I hope when the post Glasto blues lifts you all reflect as positively about the experience as I am. I’m not drunk, you’re drunk.
  18. Didn’t he say previously that he was stepping down after the 50th?
  19. I’m becoming concerned that it’s the Wednesday following the event and he hasn’t yet.
  20. I am genuinely interest in how many are testing positive because I haven’t had it yet and so far I’m in the clear. Can we please keep the thread on that basis and defer the debates about the severity of covid and the value of our continued testing? Have heard all the arguments, know them well, don’t need to hear them again.
  21. This is getting crazy!! It might be more efficient to start a “who didn’t catch COVID” thread soon! I wish you all a speedy and fulsome recovery.
  22. The milestone for me is more Thursday night as I need to know if I’m able to board my flight back to NZ 😳 It will be a miracle if I’m able to evade it after two long haul flights, touristing in mask-less London and Glasto! That will be a proper Neo dodging bullets in the Matrix like situation.

    Lorde

I loved this set! She probably had the most difficult slot of the weekend. Sub headlining is always hard and by Sunday night people are generally pretty tired and just want their headliner. Yet I found her engaging and energetic and the production was fantastic. It was a 10 for me. Looking forward to watching it back and seeing if it’s as good as I recall.
