  1. That's the spot! The Lagunitas comes out once the sun starts to set.
  2. Is the craft/ale tent still there in the trees right at the back left of East stage? They were selling proper pints last couple of years, even if the selection wasn't too great
  3. Yep, and about 20,000 people doing the same thing. It's doable but means standing at the back for both.
  4. The National / Fleet Foxes clash-ish is so silly, especially as Mogwai would be significantly better headlining the second stage. Going to FF at Islington to make sure I can see both properly.
  5. They didn't do freebies/any deals last year either. In fact 2019 is the only one of four years that they have. I'm not sure why people were expecting anything too major - we already had a BOGOF. With operational and staffing costs where they are, giving away free tickets must be a net negative even if everybody bought five pints and a burger.
  6. Gaslight Anthem for tonight on SFF, passing on it with the tube strike tomorrow mind.

He has a heavily compromised immune system, you only have to glance the lyrics to Alright to realise how serious his health issues have been over the years.
  8. After seeing Haim at the O2 on Thursday, I could absolutely see them being given the keys if the next album does anything like as well as the last. Arcade Fire are surely due a return. And Florence will surely do it in a pre-planned manner one day.

Finsbury was basically an extended version of the Glastonbury set. Didn't seem phased at all. Felt like a road test for future festival headline slots and passed with flying colours. My girlfriend went through chemo for breast cancer at 23, needless to say Alright hit pretty hard for us.

Difference with Royal Blood is they don't exactly have much diversity of song structures, Sam has a full arena/stadium show with a range of tempos from just two albums. And far bigger hits than they ever had.

Anybody else heading to Finsbury on Friday? Was going to just head up after work but looking at the forecast, I'm treating myself to a half day.
  12. They didn't have any deals or giveaways of note last year, I think they know they devalued things too much and impacted future sales
  13. Tested negative today after just over a week, but I have absolutely horrific joint pain which started in the lower back and is now in my left ankle. Anyone else had this? Seems to be fairly common with Omicron. Was barely able to walk Thurs to Sat.
  14. At least it was a win-win wherever you were. Still surprised she wasn't playing a higher slot somewhere though, subbing the Other wouldn't have been a stretch at all.
  15. Really glad to hear she went down so well, the clash with Sam was my worst of the weekend. Saw her a couple of times in 2018 and she was perfectly fine but a bit underwhelming after SITA blew me away. Then Roundhouse 2019 hinted at what was to come, but still walked away a little disappointed. Finally seeing her again at Brixton and expecting bigger things.

A little unfair probably yeah, the guy clearly had natural talent just lacked the songwriting craft and coordination of Sam and the band. I could see Sam surviving a dodgy album unlike JB.
  17. Had a sore throat start Sunday morning of the fest, tested positive Tuesday morning and still positive today. My first time so expecting it's taking longer to shift. 7-8 days as a ballpark feels about standard .

The difference being Sam has two albums full of sensational tracks and Jake Bugg was always horse****.
  19. Anecdotally I'm seeing people's lines starting thin, then getting darker when they start to feel better 3-5 days in, then taking 2-3 days to test negative from there. Felt fairly wiped out Tuesday and Weds and my line was hairline at best. Felt better on Friday and my line was crazy bold, then slightly thinner today.
  20. Pretty sure Wet Leg were deliberately put there for TV reasons to make it look more "buzzy". Still, they'd have almost filled the Other Stage at the same time going by who played at the same time.
  21. There were perfectly good options but just nothing that was going to take a big chunk of the crowd. Phoebe Bridgers, Calvin Harris or someone of similar size headlining the Other would have been one easy option.
  22. Think it's more the fact that an 80 year old doesn't offer much to a crowd of people largely in their 30s and 40s. There have been endless attempts for big fans to see him. It was fine as a booking, but the lack of any real enticing alternative really cornered a lot of us into seeing him and being incredibly bored.
  23. Eight pages in and not a single mention of Happy Maki? Multiple trips there every year. Also have a soft spot for the spicy beans and rice from Leon, and Veggies burger place, but I think both are nostalgia for when vegan options were more lacking in years past.
