I really do hope they release some firm times, they must surely know by now? The program must be off to the printers soon, if not already, it would take time for the design company to get that knocked up as well.

really like the format halvin. very easy to read. i saw on your above post that you said about sales of official guides. are they not giving them away free this year?

I think the problem with times being pre-announced is that they'll probably be wrong. The Guardian's listings from last year were well off the mark. I wish they hadn't printed them. At least with Clashfinder I know when the times are guesses.

As I said a little further up, the times must be pretty much fixed now, save a few last minute fixes. The official programmes will be fixed and printed or about to be printed. Why do you think the times would be wrong in that case? ^_^

I personally would like the times released as soon as they give the green-light to the print run. I find it disappointing that the times are not provided before-hand. I see no reason not to, other than for GFL to piss off it's customers. It means I have to waste precious time at the festival working out the clashes, rather than fixing them in the weeks of work leading up, as I get paid to surf the internet all day! ;):D

As it appears that we wont be getting the complete set times in advance this year, I have gone through the Myspaces of all the bands appearing on the Pyramid, John Peel and Other stage for them. Most bands just list that they are playing at 20:00 but a few do list the actual times that they play. Someone else can hopefully check the other stages this is helpful.

Hopefully this will be helpful to Halvin in making the these stages slightly more accurate.

Great info Freeak!!

Halvin! I'm just wondering if you'll be working your magic and adding these to the clashfinder?

I'm also soooo keen to get planning like everyone else seems to be, why can't they release all the stages? Grrrr, sooo frustrating, but then we all know that when we get there it'll change anyway. I've sometimes thought it'd be great to do a Glastonbury by just turning up and wondering round...... which isn't far from the truth really....

Wahoooo 21 DAYS 12 HOURS 45 MINUTES..... iiiiii CAAANNNNTT WAIIIT!!

Good detective work there, freeak. I tried a similar thing a while back but I gave up after the first few 20:00's. Not sure when I get the chance to sort through them, it could be a few days. One thing I haven't mentioned yet is that when I plugged in the 'proper' times for the acoustic tent, the provisional times were pretty much cock-on.

Got to be said Halvin your contribution to help everyone's festival run smoothly is invaluable!!!

Please if you get time pop up to the Pyramid Palace and you'll be treated very well, I promise.

The Palace is on the front row of the camping field at the back and to the left (as you look at the crowd from the stage) of the Pyramid field.

you will be rewarded!

Thanks again

Tone

    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
