Are cash vendors accepting of Scottish bank notes?

Have some cash for those not taking card and dawning realisation at the ATM that I have Scottish notes which can be problematic down south.

Maybe take some but also get some other to avoid disappointment.

Thanks! Managed to source some English in exchange using an ATM in the branch. Head is firmly on the farm and had a momentary panic.
