Driving from Wales - how to avoid going though Bristol?

Hi,

Its been a number of years since we were there so memory isn;'t as good as it once was!  We're driving from Pembroke Ferry dock staying in worthy View.  I know we can get there up the M4 and the the M5 - however one year the sat nav took us through Bristol which was a nightmare and the other time it didn't was much easier I thin we ended up coming by the A39 or something.

What is the best route to go in order to avoid Bristol?

Might be too late, but we do this (heading from the North so may need to adapt a little)

•    M4 to Junction 19

•    Then on to M32 Make sure you exit M4 and actually get on M32. Stay in the left lane and follow the sign for A4174 Frenchay. Exit the M4, keep left. Once you have gone under the motorway bridge stay left on go on to A4174 (signposted Kingswood, Frenchay)

•    You’ll go across a lot of roundabouts, just stay on A4174

•    Eventually, you’ll get to the final roundabout. Go right on the A4 at a roundabout (signposted Bristol A4, Bristol Airport, Park & Ride Bath Road)

•    Past retail park (TK Maxx, Toys R Us, Lidl), Bus lane is only rush hour

•    Turn left on the A4174 just after Lidl, stay right and keep going until you get to the A37, left on A37 and through to the festival

Take the M5 south from the M4 and then exit the M5 at Bridgewater taking the A39 to Glastonbury. Once in Glastonbury take the A361 to the festival. This takes you to the west car parking and Sticklinch. Your ticket info such provide direction to Worthy View
