Yes and yes 

It's a really good idea to put cash in lockups as tent thefts happen every year. They'll supply you with an envelope to put the cash in.

I stick everything it would ruin my festival to lose in as soon as I get set up, keys, travel tickets, cash, cashpoint card, excess booze and other...ahem...supplies.  Just throw everything you want storing into your rucksack and book it in, safe as houses.  Grab it out to withdraw stuff when you need it, then stick remainder back in.
