Gate queues

Comrades,

Based on previous years, what time do the queues die down so that you can more or less stroll right in? Or at least with no more than, say, half an hour's queue? I'm not factoring in choosing where to camp.

In my experience, queues normally die down at dinner time-ish, so anywhere between 11 and 1.  Depends what time they open the gates though in my opinion.  I've always gone in at gate A, expect for 2014 when we went through gate D.

Also, if it's muddy the queues will be slower but it won't be muddy in 2017 so we'll all be fine

Last few years I've gone through Gate A late morning. This year was muddy as hell but a total breeze to walk through :)

They seem to dispatch the queues pretty quickly, so by late morning you should be fine, weather permitting. That said, you then have far less choice in terms of places to camp. I've only ever entered via Gate A and arrive at around 5am by shuttle from the drop-off. I've always been on site by 8:30 and set up by 10am.
