Finding somewhere to camp on Friday morning

Hello,

I am coming to Leeds on the friday morning and was wondering how easy it is to find a camping space - it won't be completely full up? Two of us had press tickets but another friend who is coming couldn't get one so we have decided to camp in the normal bit with her and can only come up on friday. We don't mind camping in green brown or orange and will probably have a 4 man tent to sleep in and a 2 man tent for luggage.

Thanks!

A good chunk of people will have got the closer positions through early bird and Blue/Red soon fills up through Thursday.

I'd advise that you enter through Lord Bingley, head past the toilets towards Purple and take the first decent spot you see. The campsites will be nearing full capacity by that time so it will save you carting your things, scouting for a bigger/better spot that isn't guaranteed :)

Both Brown and Green were closed last year which made Orange/Purple much more crowded.

I'm going to guess that re-introducing these two campsites will help people like yourself who are arriving slightly late.. Unless it's a complete sell out (which is hasn't been for years), you should be fine. Best of luck and enjoy your weekend!

    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
    • FFS why when there are pull outs does it always include so many of the names I had as must sees!
    • This is a pretty petulant stance.   I oppose him headlining because I love coming to Slam Dunk and he would be a very big reason why I wouldn't come. That doesn't mean they can't choose to do so, they obviously can, I would just stop coming to that version of Slam Dunk.   Another name that I'll throw out there as name I'd love is Biffy Clyro.
    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
