Car park Tuesday night

Recommended Posts

Just like every year we plan to drive down on the Tuesday and spend the night in the car park waiting for the gates to the holy land to open! And I was just wondering if anyone else on here does this? And how you spend the night?

In the past we have had a little party next to the cars with little speakers and tried to pull an all nighter etc.

I love the queueathon! We try to arrive as near as poss to the car park gates opening and then trundle off with tent & essentials to join it immediately - bit of shuffling forward goes on one or two times  through the night as we all get moved up as they get the fence maze ready but the excitement grows as you inch forward.... and by the morning you are up on the hill watching the sun come up through the mist. My German army poncho acts as a mini tent over a multi-layered me so I'm even snug enough to get an hour's kip. Hi to Jane who made us a welcome fresh cup of tea to fend off the chill last year :).

really?  Is it that important for you to get a place at the front of the queue?  Leaving Swansea in the early hours of Wednesday is early enough i think!

Depends where you want to camp and how many you're having to set up for if you favour a popular field - and how far you have to travel. If you/your group aren't that bothered where you pitch and live fairly local, probably not!  For me, after a three hour or so drive, it's great to be there, relax and get into the festival vibe knowing we have a pretty good chance of pitching three tents together in our favourite spot. No angst.
