surfwidow
Hi, looked for this in other threads but cannot find so apologies if it is somewhere else. We've always camped in the family field before but due to illness have bought a caravan for festivals. We have been told we are to be given a 'forward' camping spot in the East Field. 1/ what does this mean exactly? 2/ if it means E21 then any advice on levelling would be brilliant! 3/ is it still ok to have a tent next to the van AS WELL as the (very small) awning? I'm also very nervous about dragging the caravan off a steep hill, possible very muddy, with my very old van so any tips on that would also be great! Thank you for any info in advance:)
sunnyshoes
I'm guessing completely but I presume it means everyone parks next to each other facing forwards in lines - towards the site. Are you in a disabled campervan section? We were in east cv two years ago, not in disabled, and we didn't need chocks but always have them just in case. sunnyshoes
I presume tent is ok as some people will have large awnings - maybe mention to steward who parks you as think they ask about awning size for width. It won't be muddy!! :-)
surfwidow
Sorry, didn't make myself clear! I have a disability but didn't want to park on disabled camping. I have been told by the Festival Office they have given me a 'forward capimping pitch' to help me. But I don't know what this is!
StoneCircle
Hi, looked for this in other threads but cannot find so apologies if it is somewhere else. Thank you for any info in advance:) Looking into the festival from the top of E21 (start of Hill of Death) there is a grille style fenced off area to the right, this is the disabled campervan/caravan site, for those who couldn't/didn't want to use Spring Hill. Disabled facilities on-site. There are a few disabled signs attached to the grilles. Sorry no idea if you can have tents, probably best to ask the festival office about this. Hope this helps Edited June 17, 2015 by StoneCircle
surfwidow
I bought these levelling blocks but remembering the hill of death I'm wondering if it's enough! http://www.towsure.com/fiamma-level-pro-levelling-ramps-pair

vdub_monkey
I bought these levelling blocks but remembering the hill of death I'm wondering if it's enough! http://www.towsure.com/fiamma-level-pro-levelling-ramps-pair Those near the hill of death are parked facing down the hill to my recollection as are all the other field as is standard practice as you have more adjustment with a caravan front rear then left to right. The checks you have are obviously left to right levelling. If you haven't already I would suggest getting something to put under your corner steadies as if they are wound out to far a caravan can feel pretty unsteady when you walk about in it. I have 9"x9" blocks of wood that I take around with me. That said I've been in E25 both times I've been and it's pretty level to be fair.
