Gate D queue times?

Hi all!!!!

We're planning on arriving around 7am, to Gate D - how long should i expect to queue for?

Am i best off coming a bit earlier?? Later??

Heading to Park Home Ground, or Pennards if we can...

Do you think this is early enough to get a few decent sized tents pitched together??

Hi, we are aiming for the same area (park home / dairy) and camped there last year.

We turned up at 3am and got in the queue half way down the hill from gate D (the gate has a bunch of snaking fences for people to queue in then just descends down the hill)

By 7am, the queue was out of the hill field and looping around the car park,it descended into a bit of a free for all with people queue jumping.

I'd advise either arriving much earlier, or a few hours later. Park home was full by about midday (possibly earlier) but i imagine if you want a few large tents together earlier is your best option (if you're gonna join the queue, bring a chair and layers - it gets pretty freezing before the sun comes up at about 6)

Once they opened the gates at 8am, we were pitched up by 8.30 and had the whole field to pick from

Oh my gaaaaaaad, earlier it is then!

I doubt we'll be much earlier than 6, but i guess thats an extra hours worth of people earlier

I shall bring my layers, a chair and i suppose a breakfast beer!

We arrived about 9:30. Queues were minmal at gate d. The site was obviously busy but there was still space in dairy.
