WOMAD 2015

I saw the Queens too, I thought they were a gay group. :P ... I can't see myself jumping around like that when I'm 73.

If the ladies didn't lift you to a sunny place, nothing else will.  For sure, supercharged fun from some golden oldies.  :)

the thing with womad is that it can be ... erm ... very womad.

I was stood behind a couple of people at a foodstall on Saturday night, that knew each other but (as the convo made clear) not very well. The woman was wearing more gold than you see in a goldsmiths, and the bloke was showing her some videos on his phone.

The first video was "this is one of my polo ponies making friends with our cat".

The second video was of a pony and dachshund playing with each other. He said it was "at a friend's farm in Zambia".

The third video was much like the second, but the woman had obviously forgotten what she was being shown, so asked the guy "where is this again?"

To which he said "it's at a friend's farm in Zambia, near one of our farms" - said in such a casual way you'd think everyone had more than one farm in Zambia.

At this point they finished being served and walked away. As soon as they were out of earshot, the missus and me, and the guy serving at the stall started pissing ourselves laughing.

Can't legislate for the weather

you can more often than not bad weather is before a full moon when it's waxing - so if you want good weather it's usually the other side of the full moon when it's waning.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
