Glastonbury warm up gigs

Just got back from the Eels. Last (and first) time I saw them was at Glastonbury. Bought back some happy memories, although this was a much more intimate gig. They were brilliant as expected!

It was also my 15 year old step brothers first ever gig. He is really getting in to music and loves playing guitar (it's even replaced the xbox!). He really enjoyed it despite not knowing any of the Eels stuff so that was pretty cool for him.

Anyone else got any gigs this week? I hear Kasabian are touring at the moment, not my thing, but how many bought tickets to see them this week, only to find out they're headlining next week?

Arcade Fire at Earls Court was my last one before the big event, though I've got no plans this weekend so may head up to London for something.

I saw Josh Homme on Monday. Nice reminder of QOTSA's brilliant headline set on The Other Stage a few years back.

Nothing else booked until after the festival, though I've got Ben Folds and Franz Ferdinand both coming up in July.

I've got Mongol Horde tonight and Vintage Trouble on Sunday. If anyone likes a nice bit of bluesy rock I'd recommend going to see VT on West Holts. Amazing band.

Ugly Duckling and Jurassic 5 last night.

Was wicked.

Means I'm not that bothered to see J5 at Glastonbury now, although there at no clashes so will most likely be there unless I get sidetracked by a tutu wearing, fire juggling elephant in the Greenfields.

Went to see Kasabian in Cork during their festival warm up tour in Ireland a few weeks ago. They were amazing!! Glasto will be blown away!!

My last gig was Inspiral Carpets at Band On The Wall. I usually go to more but I deliberately made June a quite month so I would appreciate Glastonbury all the more.

Parquet courts + the wytches on Monday should be fun and will allow me to see dr feelgood on the Friday at Glastonbury as they clash with parquet courts.

I saw Josh Homme and Arcade Fire too this month, plus a nice little mini-festival warmup in the shape of Field Day. It's got me all excited!
