It affects how long it takes you to get around the site, how much you feel like watching bands on the outside stages, and how up you are for a big night at the end of a long day. Having said that, it doesn't have to affect your enjoyment of the festival. You just tend to change what you do depending on whether it's swampy mud or blazing sunshine. One thing that used to really bug me in muddy years was the lack of places to sit. You'd literally be on your feet all day. But they seem to have really increased the number of benches / places to sit in the last few years, which can be a lifesaver if you want to rest your feet for a few minutes.
