No flags allowed?

Taken a flag to T for several years but had bother getting it past security last year. Just been reading up on the rules on the TITP website and says no flags allowed in the arena - is this a new thing? Or do people just ignore it?

The very large ones are annoying as fuck and also dangerous, got stuck under one at KOL on 2009 and the c**t dropped it. It caused a domino effect of people all falling back on one another for about 50yards! Keep then in the house.
