Underated classics

One album I bought back in the '70s, that had been reduced to £1, was Tod Rundgren's "A Wizard A True Star". Not sure if it it is a first pressing but I after all these years I did find Patti Smith's poem inside the album a couple of years ago.

So many good albums get over looked for various reasons.

The Earlies - These Were The Earlies, is a great record that got amazing reviews but sold sod all. Eventually after one more album, they just couldn't afford to continue.

Kitchen of Distinction - Love is Hell, to be fair, it's such a crap name, you can understand why they never made it. Great record though.

Peter, Bjorn & John - Writers Block. People are probably put off by the single Young Folks and dismissing them as a one hit wonder, but this is a fantastic album. They were probably held back by being pretty average live. They're actually pretty sought after producers as well as being a band.

Pretty much anything from the Moody Blues during the 70's and 80's. Beautifully crafted albums with some wonderful songs.

Cracking artwork as well.

I saw Todd Rundgren live on his recent tour (Official State Visit tour or some shit) and it was immensely disappointing.

He played nothing but techno/euro-dance and played a total of about 2 notes on the guitar.

Back on the thread topic, I was listening to Moby Grape the other day, they're pretty underrated I feel.

The Hammersmith Apollo? Was there too, a brilliant night, right from the start when he came on stage to International Feel dressed in a full NASA space suit.

I've got AWATS in vinyl, CD, and a download of the AWATS concert at Hammersmith.

    • The first half of that game was cracking but then I fell asleep at half time. Maybe that's just the momentum of things.

    • A win is a win but it was a very poor game with only 4 shots on target in the whole game. Scotland obviously handed a massive bonus with Brazil and Morocco drawing but I don't think either of them will be too worried.
    • Word of advice, your work-life energy balance should be 60% energy for work and 40% energy for life. If you're drained after a day's work, that is something you should strongly look into. Especially if it is solely due to work.
