NYC Downlow - where do they get the 'acts' from?

So...the NYC Downlow...are the 'acts' the real thing ie. hard core denizens of NY gay and transvestite bars and clubs....or just a load of dance and theatre graduates with the right moves.....

One of my friends who is a dancer got involved in 2009. He was asked through his dance contacts and used to regularly be involved in stage shows at gay clubs in London.

The NYC Downlow was where I finished off Sunday this year and the crowd were so lovely and up for it. Me and my boyf were hauled on-stage and had a great time being piled on by lots of the dancers. I ended up with stubble rash despite the beard

Also broke some guys heart when me and the other half snogged at the very end as he had fallen big time for my boyfriend.

I've seen a few of them doing shows in Horse Meat Disco in London alright. Also, a friend of mine who does drag in Dublin is involved in the one at Lovebox.
