Hi ladies & gents ;)

Right, ill get right to the point. Me & my friend have booked our tickets (General camping the whole weekend) but we haven't the faintest idea on a few things so i was wondering if you guys could help us out!!! You may laugh lol, we have absoloutely NO IDEA what to expect so;

1) Does anyone know how long its going to take to get to Daresbury from South london by car ROUGHLY? Not that its going to bother us ;)

2) There's two of us, best way to carry our stuff around?

I know we have to travel light, what should we bring apart from the obvious tent & Sleeping bag...

3) Someone said that there are showers?

Erm...massive que's considering theres a dirty massive field right? Or does everyone just absoloutley stink and "use babywipes" :S (hahaha)

4) Are we allowed to bring alcohol and how much of it?

Any tips on sneaking it in is welcomed ;)

5) Any way we can boil some water like any stools or something?

We plan on having lots of supernoodles or soup haha.

6) What time do need to arrive and what time do we have to leave by or will we be told more info closer to the date?

I think thats it really, but if you have any more tips for us we would greatly apprieicate it!

Emma x

Are you sure you're ready for Creamfields?

Ok,

1. Its taken us between 3 & a half to 7 hours to get from West London. Dependant on traffic conditions. It is a bank holiday weekend.

2. See other forums/threads for that info. Just keep your wits about you however you go about it.

3. Im pretty sure there are no showers, i could be wrong but im sure you'll need hospitality tickets for that privilege if they do exist. Slum it, its only 3 days.

4. I would have thought it would be 1 maybe 2 crates and a bottle of spirits. I dont drink really.

5. Eating is most definetly cheating.

6. If you arrive on the friday pretty much anytime. There are silent discos and other bits of entertainment in the evening. Saturday normally kicks off around 2pm. Most people leave Monday morning by about midday.

Have fun. And if they announce one of two acts i have in mind i'll be there too! (They won't though)

    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
    • No complaints about the sound. We were like 2nd set of steps facing stage right in like the middle row.
    • On the whole then, yay or nay...I've had a look on festivals united and there's people who seem converted by Rock Im Park, I can imagine it might be different if it was a washout as RaR is tarmac.   The hotel side would be more to convince the non campers if it's an option. On my first visit to rock am ring we were shuttled into the area where you could stick the car next to the tent which was fantastic as it meant zero lugging of camping gear.
    • An interesting thing this. Having seem them several times (some of their gigs veer into back catalogue niche territoty), I partly agree they arent Pyramid material (theough modern defeinition of 'bangers' although I could see them headlinging the Other stage) I can't think of another festival in the world that they couldn't headline - Reading, IoW, BST, Rock Wercheter, Roskilde, etc etc.
