Im surprised they've left it so late, they said they were going to do it early this year again due to the bank holiday the week of Download.

They must surely know what they're doing though, not like they aren't a huge company that does this all the time

There will probably still be the usual horror stories closer to the time, i used ticketmaster and i think they usually use Royal Mail?

I hope it starts earlier than that! That could leave only 6 days for people's tickets to arrive in the worst case scenario. I'd personally hope they start getting posted within the next 2 weeks.

But as usual there will be problems. I still don't know why they don't just send them out as and when they're purchased and just barcode them. It's not like touting is a problem when the event doesn't sell out.

More than likely, i have trekked all over without a ticket and always managed to get one and a few times under face value.

Haven't been to Download for a couple of years and have been going to Soni instead, both times I have picked up cheap tickets off ebay last minute, last year I got a pair still less than face value for 1 but there were still touts around there to buy the spare off me...

Will admit to having got my ticket this year off ebay, but at a less than face value price... Touting is very hit and miss with both Download and Soni, you get in early and get your ticket but you never know if the lineup is going to be spectacular, average or... well, Sonisphere 2012... Other festis like Reading/Leeds and so on have much more pulling power USUALLY that touting is a big issue... This year could really shake it up everywhere

Touting is only an issue at Reading/Leeds etc because it usually sells out. Download never has (to my knowledge) so touts don't normally make much on these tickets. People sell them on eBay but generally only people who can no longer go and most of the time these go for less than face value.
