FR are Desperatly trying to sell tickets for their tour that they're promoting, it's even one of the main headlines on the official Leeds site?

Someone a while ago said that this might be to try sell as many tickets now as possible before they're announced for R&L so people don't bother. Or it could equally be a form of advertising!

Either way what do you think are the chances of an FR headline? I think they're the right size and wouldn't be too big as they'd be facing tough competition. My bets would be on Maccabees/Cure day depending on who else is booked

Yeah I said this before the NME announcement.

It would be odd for them to be advertised on the festival sites if they're not playing. FR won't be getting that much money just for promoting a gig (I think its only one gig they are promoting, but haven't checked so correct me if I'm wrong).

And as they're playing an FR gig, it means FR must at least be in contact with them.

I'm going to their Shepherd's Bush gig, so not too bothered if they playing. I would happily miss part of The Cure/The Macabees/Kasabian/ATDI to see them again though, they're a great live band.

They'd be a strong FR headliner, that's for sure.

I think it was you who put the idea in my head then!! IT'S LIKE INCEPTION. Hahaaa

In a nutshell the deal says "Check out the tour dates, we have 2 tickets to give away for each night, email us the night you want to attend - winners revealed April 29th" or something, it just seems REALLY strange to be on the Leeds website, especially when several of their tour dates are rival festivals?!

Most of their shows are too far away for me to attend and as I saw Maccabees last month I'd love that clash to go and watch half of both

So, what are you doing about other festivals this year?

Well, we’ve played the Leeds/Reading festivals five years in a row, erm, we have played the last few years though, but we want to play it again this year. We’ve approached them and told them we’re available, I mean, when we were recording the second album we couldn’t play that year, and the next, so now we’re waving our hands saying we are ready to come back. I’ll be there, you’ll recognise me – I’m the one with the funny colour hair.

Looks like FR turned them down and they will be going as part of the crowd.

    • 1 - Mock Media - Rat Bastard 2 - Maquina - Body Transmission 3 - Mary in the Junkyard - Role Model Hermit   Honourable mentions to The Hu - Hun, Madonna - Confessions II, and Swapmeet - Mount Zero for also being solid.   Sadly, really didn't connect with the new Yard Act, a real shame as loved their last two albums and thought this one would be a shoe-in for AOTM, but felt it was a bit too generic..
    • Anyone had email yet?
    • See him doing either wilderness or the forest live shows more
    • I always fancied going to this one - it had my sort of lineup. Shame.
