whats rockness like for kids... three boys, 9,11 and 12... theyve been to a few small festivals and glastonbury , is it total carnage? and are there things there for kids?

Nothing there for kids what so ever.. wouldn't recommend it for kids am afraid

It isn't carnage. I'd say it's friendly enough.

You do see kids about that age going around but there isn't much specifically for them barring a few rides and face painting. Not complete carnage but miles and away more wild than Glasto.

I'd probably choose elsewhere if I had kids but that's not to say I wouldn't, there is just better out there for them.

I went to my first festival (t in the park) when i was 11...which compared to rockness is very rough! Saying that, no one looked near us, and the only time was in good banter! Last year at rockness/titp saw a fair young kids going about! All looked like they loved it, had a chat with them whilst drunk, kids found it hilarious and parents enjoyed us having a chat. So your children will be safe!

In terms of things to do...there is a bit, big wheel and that sort, there was a circus sorta thing last year, comedy tent, I think in 2010 there was like a smoothie making thing, band signing tent,etc. Although im sure they will be well entered by the music!

Been going to festivals for 6 years and seeing fights from my experience is very rare (one ar titp, chavs a bit over excited for eminem.)

I definitely think you should go for it and wouldnt regret it!

I started Rockness when I was about 12 or something and found it alright.That was in 2006 though, and I was right into my electronic stuff back then as well. Not much to do for your standard kids though, unless it's lying about the hill watching the mainstage stuff.

Belladrum Tartan Heart, that's the festival you want to go to if you have kids.. I went along with my wee cousins last year, aged 5 and 7, and they loved every minute of it, as did I!

It's a bit of a trek but camp bestival is amazing for kids that age, went first time last year and my 9 year old had an amazing time .

Agree with both the above. Took little one to Bella a couple times and its decent.

Also tried Camp Bestival last year and that's amazing for kids. So much for them to do, its a bit pricier to get to and for tickets but worth it.

Also look at Wickerman or even Bearded Theory, Solfest, Beautiful Days.. depends where your from and how far you want to travel.
