I'm hoping to go for the first time this year too so I'm not sure of the answers to your questions, I was wondering, what time do the bands start at night, is it late start/finish like Benicassim or all through the day like Glastonbury? I'm hoping that it's feasible to go to the city centre at some points during the festival...

Also, can anyone compare the camping at Sziget to the camping at Benicassim? I camped at Benicassim (the only other European festival I've been to) and the camping was hard work in the heat, though it was ace!

The bands get going properly at about 3-4 each afternoon. But there is something going on all night and day.

You definitely have time to get to the city during the day. Really the place doesn't get going until later.

I didn't camp, but the good thing about Sziget is there are no designated camping areas, you can camp anywhere, even beside the music stages. There is lots of shade and trees, but you would need to get there early to find a good spot.

theres so much potential of bands from other festivals that could be playing so im well excited/hoping the next announcments are gonna be good! for me id love korn to be one of the headliners, even if its headlining the rock stage or something, but the fact they didnt get announced as a headliner makes me think there not gonna be one mayb high up on main or something, even though they are the main pull for me coming this year from england (never took notice of the festival be tbh lol) i wouldnt be overly fussed if theyre headlineing or not just the fact theyre playing(already seen them on their tour this year) and placebo so glad their a headliner, any other big bands now are an absolute bonus for me :D

fear not and have patience... i've not yet figured out if they have any pattern to their announcements, i don't think they're that well organised!!

Just a thought - maybe they're waiting until the end of the month (i.e., after they've stopped selling early bird tickets) before they make any more major announcements? :(

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
