planning to do just that this year.

actually i just joined this site looking for info and tips. so at least if you go alone you'll know at least theres one other person in the same boat.

the way i see it, if the music is good and the people friendly its worth it.

I went up myself in 07. I'd only made a couple of posts on here so hardly knew anyone. I must say I've never met a more welcoming group. I met some people who will be friends for life and I also met my girlfriend.

I only decided to go in 07 at the last minute because the draw of Daft Punk was far too much. I spent the whole Saturday by myself and had a great time, I could go where I wanted, see who I wanted to see and go back to the tent whenever. The Sunday I spent the day at the efest camp and went to see daft Punk with a few efesters one of which became my girlfriend. So what I'm saying is never be afraid to get involved, it's a great crowd at the efest camp and always a great laugh but you should also never be afraid to spend some time by yourself at a fest.

My first fest was Reading 2008, only for the Sunday, went with a friend, but after the first few bands we wanted to see different things so both went our own way, didn't meet up again until the train home after it all, randomly joined a conga line into the NME tent and had a great laugh with the bunch around me for Pendulum, then later at Metallica was chatting again to the bunch around me, meeting new people is all part of the festival experience! Last year i worked in the information tents at the Sonisphere festival, didn't know anyone but met loads of great folk doing it, some of whom came to visit us every shift we were on.

Same again for RockNess, two of us going, never been before, don't know anyone else going, so looking forward to meeting some more of you lovely people! But again still good to get a bit of time on your own now and again too.

Most important thing is to make friends with your neighbours in the campsite, you will then have someone else looking out for your stuff, and you for theirs. And will be people to sit and drink with into the early hours.

We're in VIP too! Say hello, I'll be wearing a Slipknot hoodie, doubt there will be many of those around RockNess, but you never know...

    • Seems the addition of the Sun Stage area is interesting. Suspect this is the area where the Stage 4 used to be pre-2024. Looks as though they want to try create some space to keep people in amongst the arena post-headliners, rather than just crowds all descending back on the campsite entertainment at once.
    • 2000 Trees - 3 Day Tickets on Concert for Carers to buy (pair £15) sure they will not have them for long, I cant check if they are still available as it now says I have already bought tickets.
    • times and technology has changed , a pyramid headliner is often about the show thats put on as much as the music like it or not and as much as many would like to you cant really blame an artist for trying to get the best out of the set both for the audience in the field and for the cameras also ....
