Dear E-Festivals

I have an add to the Glastonbury line-up list.

It's Canadian artist David Celia, who will be playing on the 25th and 26th on an unknown stage ( although last year he played the Mandala and Tadpole stages in the Green Fields). He'll be accompanied by Joan Besen on keyboards, former member of double platinum country rock band Prairie Oyster, and an award winning songwriter in her own right. David is also has impeccable pedigree, with 3 solo records under his belt, and numerous tours worldwide.

I met him and Joan last year, when they played a set in the King Arthur pub in Glastonbury town (to 6 people!) on the Wednesday after the festival. Brilliant stuff, ranging from straight country, to blues rock, to heavy psychedelia, to playing any requests from the room (including a Hendrix style version of the Canadian national anthem)...

They were happy to have a drink and chat way after the gig ended, and he came across as a helluva nice bloke. Joan was also real down to earth and unassuming for someone who pretty much has legend status in her home country. Both of em were blown away by the size of Glasto, as it was their first time there.

So I have to ask that they get on your list (please). I think they well deserve it imho

A postscript.

3 great sets from Dave over the weekend, and nice to see Mr Eavis checking out part of the gig at the Tadpole stage on Sunday evening.

Here's a clip of DC playing in Germany during the current tour. Nifty slide guitar intro too !

    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
