Glastonbury Pub Crawl

Guest Fursday

Dear the internet:

I'm trying to find a vaguely definitive list of Glastonbury bars for the purposes of devising a pub crawl. I'm sure there'll be a few we don't know about yet but I bet most of them will be in the same places as they usually are, so I wondered if people could help me by remembering names of bars and roughly where they are (there are many maps on google images in various stages of up-to-datedness) so that we can get a list together, and from it a map and from that a crawl!

Quick google search reveals somebody had the same idea a couple of years ago: /index.php?showtopic=124760">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=124760 so something to start with:

Queens Head

Mandela Bar

Dance Lounge Bar

Wine Bar (other stage)

Bimble Inn

Phil's Diner

NYC Downlow

Brothers Bar

Red Flag

Thanks in advance for your helps!

Cider Bus

Brothers Bar

There are a huge number of bars now dotted about site with a fair few with particular ale types in the main markets particularly eg. the Cornish themed one that sold Tribute. Kind of a sponsored thing BUT it works. The Something and Roses (cant remember what the Something is, may be Bread?) even has credit/debit card sales and is a short walk from the Cider Bus.

There is more than one Wine Bar, there is a big one opposite the Orange Chill and Charge that has a bistro on the side of it now.

The Medieval style bar in Avalon is lush.

Nearly every venue in SL has a bar and the big one at Arcadia does great cocktails.

Cocktails and Dreams on the way to John Peel has karaoke.

Googling for the bars list is difficult though isnt it? Best option is to dig out last year's programme...my problem is, I cant bloody find mine :(

Check out Glasto Earth it's got all the bars listed there, and then you can see where they are on the map so you could put together a crawl route if you so wished ;)

There's the 'Apple Smugglaz' which is in Shangri La, which might be what you remember as cider smuggler. I've not been there but think I will try to this year!

Yes, that place (smugglaz) was great, and oddly, even when everywhere else in Shangri-La was absolutely rammed full, that place always seemed to be at just the right level. Never too packed, but always busy enough to be rowdy and fun.

    • Hezbollah rejected it. Really Israel should get the f**k out, and US and others should support the Lebanese govt in defeating Hezbollah.
