I had seen it, but it was most welcome accompaniment to a cheeky J this morning for me. There are a fair number of clips from the solent folks about and I'm pretty sure that some involved are posters here (getting involved in filming the flashmob proposal at the stones and a tea party event that were both organised on here, iirc).

This clip is really evocative, I love the slow pans around people they have asked to just stand and be filmed, frankly I could happily watch stuff like that all day

Beautifully shot but terrible editing and some extremely poor choices of subject matter. They obviously intended to try and document the 'other' side of the festival but it basically amounts to some overly lingering shots of people stood in front of what appears to be fairground attractions.

The average BBC montage is more representative than of Glastonbury than this; just not shot on digital SLRs.

Nice music and a nice idea but poorly executed.

Firstly - answering a perfectly reasonable critique of something you have deliberately posted to be discussed with a sulky 'can you do any better' makes you look like a chump. Are only entirely positive replies allowed?

Secondly - yes I can. If I want to spend my Glastonbury 2011 dragging a heavy SLR and lens set around with me when I really want to be dancing around drunk, that is.

I'm a professional in the TV and film industry. Most of my friends are either cameramen or directors and so - at least on a technical level - I know what I'm talking about.

But you now what? It wouldn't matter if I wasn't. I'd still be able to judge that film on a purely asthetic level if I was a bus driver!

And it doesn't entirely work. It has no real pace, no direction. The choice of subjects are random, not specific. That's fine in theory but the bits they've chosen to cut into the film have absolutely no cohesion. Take the shot of the neon burger sign that tilts down to the empty plate and cider bottle - what is that trying to say? In filmmaking every shot should count. The canvas is too small - we don't get enough of a look at the different aspects of the festival and it's people that the film is trying to illustrate.

I love the mood though - the photography is largely excellent and the music well chosen. The film was made by students as well, so I wouldn't want to unduly harsh. In fact rather the reverse - they have managed to capture some of the vibe of the festival but haven't lived up to what the first shot initially promises.

i do think it captures a lot of the randomness of night time at glastonbury well.
