Went on the Solly Website to find no info on, the forums gone and a message saying a new team would be trying to arrange 'a Solfest'!! Whats going on? Is our lovely festival going ahead or what??

ANY ANSWERS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

Gonna need to find another equally close and lovely festie to go to if its all off!! :(:(:(

Yeah but just looked a bit dodgy that the forums and everything are not on and what happened to all the folk that used to run it?!!

I was hoping one of the organisers who are sometimes on here could enlighten me!!

I know exactly what you mean and I was telling one of the organisers yesterday that what's on the website looks worryingly pants - but DON'T PANIC!!! - it's just a case of someone throwing up a poorly-worded bit of blurb before Christmas and now they're on with the new website and, more importantly, on with preparations for a lovely new Solfest with lots of the old favourite bits and a few spicy new bits to keep us excited.

More inside info:

Some of the old organisers are still organising... some have moved on to do new things... some have passed on all the responsibility but will still be at Solfest helping out gently and having a well-deserved party.

New organisers include quite a few people who've been involved in Solfest for years but weren't official organisers/directors before. Other new organisers are stalwarts of the Cumbrian music scene.

I think it's all going to be fine and great and lovely and we Weirdigans expect to be there with the Wierdstring Band and acoustic space and woodstove and chai and cake... as usual :)

Watch for the new site and announcements on Feb 1st. And show your support by buying your tickets as soon as they come out!

I've also noticed quite a bit of toing and froing with the Solfest Forum but I think things are starting to settle in now - as the elf said, it's here. ;)

    • Possibly not as there are chair size restrictions in the seated area, for the guidelines see here -  https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/bring   Have a look into applying for Access and I would recommend contacting them for further advice before buying a ticket - https://www.bbc.co.uk/backstage/radio2inthepark/access  They should also be able to answer if you can take a wheelchair into the seated area 🙂
