Local tickets

Haven't been for a few years now and was wondering what the deal for locals were?

I remember last time just being told to apply at the same time they go on general sale. Are any local tickets held back for the April sale date??

Also, I've moved from Wells to Radstock since then, am I still in the local area?? or do I have to tap my old man up to use his address?

Thanks! ;)

From the Festival website:

The first and best option for all local residents to secure Glastonbury Festival tickets is to follow the same procedures as everybody else - online or by phone on 3rd October 2010 or in a subsequent re-sale. Local residents will need to register to purchase tickets - exactly the same as any other ticket buyers.

A limited number of tickets will be made available for people resident in the parishes surrounding Pilton village, who have registered using that address, but who have been unable to buy tickets when first released. Details of who can apply, and how to apply, will be announced in Central Somerset newspapers in Spring 2011.

Sunday tickets are made available exclusively to residents of Central Somerset to come to the Festival for one day, on Sunday 26th June 2011. Sunday ticket purchasers need not register. Please keep an eye on Central Somerset press for details in early Spring 2011.

basically Radstock and Wells etc are not in the catchment for weekend tickets and residents from those towns can only get them in the same way as everyone else.....

Wells and Radstock are however in the catchment for Sunday tickets which will be available by ballot usually advertised in local press, Somerset Standard etc sometime early March....ticket cost last year was around £65 which included coach travel which you have to use - at least to go to the festival (you can opt out of the return journey if you wish to camp over).

only residents of Pilton, Pylle and a couple of other very local villages have the opportunity of free weekend tickets.

I love it when the locals turn up on the Sunday. You can see them there, looking clean, normal and well rested, looking round with amusement at the carnage that happens when that many people spend 5 days on a farm with loads of bars.

Not sure if that bit's entirely correct as it contradicts the previous poster and what's on the official website about it. I also spoke to a friend who lives in Street who said she always gets a 'local' one every April.

I used to live in Pilton and certainly miss those free tickets now. :D
