"This log is your log,

This log is my log

When lightning struck it

It kicked the bucket

I poured some onions, inside my trousers

This log it used to be a tree

Now it spreads love to you and me

Hey look it's heading out to sea"

Also the bit where Homer catches Apu cheating on his wife...

  • 3 weeks later...

the dad who knew too little was on the other day. love that one!

(Lisa turns on the tape of "Lisa Simpson, Girl Cowboy." In it, Lisa's face is crudely pasted on a cowgirl's body. The animation is really choppy.)

Cowgirl: Howdy, pardners! My name is sheriff...

Homer voiceover: Lisa Simpson!

Cowgirl: I sure am hungry for my favorite food...

Homer voiceover: McNuggets!

Lisa: I don't like McNuggets! I'm a vegetarian!

Homer: Still? Well then you're not gonna like your other present!

(We see a turkey in wrapping paper!)

(In the film a male cowboy rides up)

Cowgirl: Why it's my best friend...

Homer voiceover: Maggie!

Lisa: (in reality) Huh?

Bartender: (enters from a saloon) Bad news sheriff...

Homer voiceover: Lisa Simpson!

Bartender: Some Indians took all the...

Homer voiceover: McNuggets! Mmmm McNuggets... haughughalughalugh!

Cowgirl: I'll get those no good Indians, just as sure as my favorite book is...

Homer voiceover: Magazines! Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Bart voiceover: Wake up, Dad!

Homer voiceover: Huh wha?

(Static fills the screen as Lisa shuts off the TV in anger.)

Another classic from the monorail episode

Marge: Homer, there's a man here who thinks he can help you!

Homer: Batman?

Marge: No, he's a scientist.

Homer: Batman's a scientist.

Marge: It's not Batman!

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
