The Crystal Palace

36 Jamaica Street

Glasgow

G1 4QD

TEL 0141 221 2624

This is a typical Weatherspoons pub, plenty seating available upstairs so we will meet up there and try get as many seats as possible together. There is also the Real Ale & Cider Festival on at this time, so plenty choice of drinks and reasonable prices. Plan is to stay there for a while, people can get food etc.

After, we will be heading off to

Maggie Mays

60 The Trongate

Glasgow

G1 5EP

TEL 0141 548 1350

An award winning Live Music venue, Indie/Rock nightclub, Scottish Restaurant, Lunch destination & Late night bar...

On Saturdays, the night is

The Rock Shop

It's only Rock n roll, but you'll like it!

Can of Red Stripe £2.00

Vodka Mix £2.00

Sourz Shooter £1.50

Doors 11pm, free before midnight £5 after

Obviously we will head there for 11pm to grab a seating area, the main area is down the stairs so aim for there if coming later.

There is a Facebook Group where a list of attendees/invited can be seen. Obviously everyone is welcome and no need to be on Facebook to attend, it's just easier to keep a track of everyones status. If you are not on Facebook, just let us know on this thread.

So far 22 people are attending, 16 maybes and a lot still not to reply. If you can keep this updated so we get an idea of numbers involved that will be great B)

If anyone travelling far needs somewhere to stay, there is floor space here.. just drop me a PM ;)

Hope to see you all there

Paul

I'm looking slightly doubtful for this now. Have my mate's stag do the weekend before and his wedding in ireland the week after so gonna be skiiiiint :(

Depends on a few things, particularly when I get my first pay from my new job

I should be there. Heading to a flat party for my mate's bday so will only be there til 7/8ish unfortunately. I'm sure that'll give me enough time to get Ross into a drunken state tho :P

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.
    • Just listed on Twickets
    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
    • I have a spare campervan pass to get rid of.  unable to use Kaboodle as it is only entry that they re-sell
